 Poster: A snowHead

Hi all, unfortunately I will need to travel back to London for work a couple of days ahead of the rest of my group.
Travel will be on a Wednesday evening for the last flight from Geneva.
What are the best options for getting from Les Menuires to Geneva as a solo traveler on a Wednesday?

There is an Altibus at 09:50.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Might be worth asking the local Office de Tourisme as well. They may have some local transfer/taxi companies that might be competitive. Or know about bus connections. They might also offer to organise it all for you too.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@B1g_browner,
if you want to go direct, obviously will cost you more, but you could try this company
https://www.coolrunnings.eu/
friends have used them from VT before
just looked up a trial price for a transfer on a Wednesday in early feb, leaving resort late afternoon/early evening for Geneva, and it was 235 euros.
i looked at flixbus as well, but there latest bus was 12:15 pm, so like the altibus one you will be sitting around geneva airport for hours!!

Have a look at Altibus from Les Menuires to Moutiers then a train to Geneva. We've done the journey a few times and it's very pleasant- and should cost no more than about €60 .
Or you could take the Altibus to Moutiers then hire a car from there, with a one way drop off. You just need to make sure you drop the car off in the French sector of Geneva airport. It's an easy, scenic drive from Moutiers to Geneva airport & should take no more than 1.5 hours to 1 hour 50 mins.
If you opt for the latter you could visit lovely Annecy on the way back, or the medieval town of Conflans near Albertville. Both are well worth a visit.

My daughter usually took altibus but agree not worth a day’s skiing! If you don’t want to shell out for a private transfer the bus and train combo looks good depending on strikes!!

Thanks for all the responses guys. Just so that I'm not caught on the hop, If I were to get the train to Geneva from Moutiers station, what would be the connection to the airport?
From memory, I've never noticed signs for a train station at Geneva airport?

@B1g_browner, the train station is at the far right end of the airport as you face the entrance and underneath it ie very close!!

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

@terrygasson, That cool runnings website has €80 down as a shared transfer? That would be by far the easiest way, just wondering if you had any experience with them?
@kitenski, Thanks for the heads up. I have never noticed signs for the train station.

As far as I understand, cool runnings are a well regarded transfer company. The question will be whether they are actually running a shared transfer at the exact time you want it. It’s quite unusual but not impossible midweek. Worth giving them a call and asking.
