When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I’m planning a trip to see my sister in law at Easter who lives near Malaga.

I wondered how likely skiing would be at Easter in Sierra Nevada?

Is it a short ski season? How are conditions typically?

Can get some really good dumps late season, because of it's position gets affected by wind which shuts the lifts down, the main Rio run can get a bit slushy and cut up . Plenty of snow at the moment. Worth a day or two just to get to the top of the Veleta and on a clear day and look across to North Africa. The British ski school can give you more info.

Sierra Nevada is fine for a day or two if you are already there. I would never recommend someone flying there specifically to ski. We went once driving from Lisbon aiming to stay for a week, as did several of my work colleagues; no one succeeded for the week, it was rain or ice or high winds… Conditions are temperamental so simply turn up and see what it’s like on the day Smile
