Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Alpe d'Huez or Les Deux Alpes for beginners (couple)

@Spike107, as I've said previous, L2A gets A LOT of hate on here that I think is unfair; it's an awesome resort for skiers and boarders of all abilities. Although I said I'd not be chasing to go back there just yet after our Easter trip - there are so many resorts I've yet to visit, only so many ski trips in a lifetime - I'd still be absolutely buzzing to ski there if the opportunity came up. Yes, it's a bit 'featureless' (i.e treeless) but it's still a brilliant area, and it's got a great town also. If Vallee Blanche is open (the smaller of the two hills), that's a really nice spot away from the crowds. You'll have an absolute blast

We’re visiting Alpe d’Huez this February half‑term and staying in Le Bourg‑d’Oisans with my two sons (13 and 16). I’d appreciate advice on the most efficient way to reach the slopes each day (drive or express list) , as well as recommendations for ski hire, ski schools, and restaurants.

I don't know what the queues would be like but this is the purpose of the Eau d'Olle Express in Allemond, which is less than 15 minutes drive from Le Bourg d'Oisans on a flat road. It takes you up to Oz, where you can take the Poutran gondola up to the bottom of the Pic Blanc 2; or ski to the Alpette gondola, which gives you the choice of Vaujany or the Alpette-Rousses cable car to Dôme des Rousses.

If you do go that way, last time I was in Oz, a couple of years ago, we rented from La Cabane à Skis, which is just off the run down to the Alpette. They were very good value and exceedingly friendly and helpful. I did think that their "black" skis were "red" (Völkl Deacon XT) and would pay the extra €10 for "gold" next time. They were much cheaper booking in advance.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thank you — that’s very helpful. I was leaning toward the Eau d’Olle Express as well

Alpe d'Huez was my first ever ski holiday and can tell you it was fantastic. Looking back, ADH was the perfect place for beginners with plenty of green / blue / reds

Enjoy!
