I’d love to tell you how amazing the skiing is at le Massif, but the strike meant that I didn’t get a single run done.
As for the club med? Great facilities, poor service, luke warm food and I’m never going back.
They also lied to me about what was open and how it would affect our holiday. We knew it was a compromise, but we agreed to a 50% credit to use in another holiday. It should be 100% credit now or at least 80%.
I stay at club med all the time in much worse facilities, in old hotels and the service is what makes it great. This has all the facilities and just poor service.
I’m gutted as I heard such good things about the le massif ski area too. God bless the unions for killing the mountain and everyone’s jobs.

Unionisation is just a reality of the current imbalance in N America between resort owners and workers, who often can't afford to live in the places they are working and often are earning less hourly than fast food jobs for technically responsible roles. Anyone skiing in N America needs to be aware of that.
That said Club Med should have been switching you to somewhere else you could ski automatically.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@Dave of the Marmottes, I have no issue with unions per say. I have a problem with militant unions.
I do believe the staff were under payed.
However, it’s a private company. If the pay isn’t good enough then quit and do something else. If no one wants to do the job people would have to increase wages.
The unionised lift people has openly boasted that they are getting paid by union while on strike and will just have 2 months more off.
The non union people like the ski instructors, cleaners, cooks, restaurant workers, etc…. Have all lost their jobs instantly.
Then all the people that have paid big money to come to the resort are now cleaned out. Travel insurance doesn’t cover strike action.
The union refused arbitration.
But back on topic. The club med should do more for its clients. I’m a regular with them and it means nothing really.

I love come Club Med and have had some fantastic holidays with them, but I would never pay their full price. I either book very early or very easy late season or last-minute - I.e. book Friday pm to travel Sunday. Most of the places I’ve been to have been fantastic. I’m really surprised they treated you so badly and didn’t divert you somewhere else.

@RickBoden, I’m a huge fan of club med. I do 2 trips a year with them booking int he Jan sales.
This was the first time I booked one of their 5 star top tier hotels and can’t believe how bad it is. The usual club med welcome and your luggage taken to the room just didn’t happen. They watched us carry the luggage. Really quite poor.
