Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi
We have moved from the UK to the area, and are debating whether to go to Les Contamines from the 20th Feb to 24th Feb for the start of “ski week half term”.
We are a family of 4, beginners, so will be on green/blue slopes. (Kids aged 7 and 4). Super beginners.
If you think it will be very busy please suggest other areas that are good for families, good for beginners.
Thank you

Busy for sure, and Les Contamines seems a lot busier then it used to be a few years ago when it was my 'almost secret' destination that I went to when it was rammed elsewhere. Parking by 'La Gorge' used to be easy but the last couple of times has required a bit of a walk to get to the lifts after parking in the road so I wouldn't leave it too late to get there (although also noting last time it was a perfect blue sky day after a heavy snowfall)
That said, once up past the initial bubble lift queue the on-mountain lines were pretty small last time I was there and it seems to handle busier days pretty well
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Don’t make our mistake, make sure you get your ski pass at the ticket booth the day before you want to start or buy them on line.
