Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Howdy all
I am looking at having more flexibility for short touring out of the resort.
I currently have
K2
Mindbinder 99TI (alpine binding and probably too heavy for touring but otherwise great) and a pair of Camox. I know that they are both the same width underfoot, but I impulse bought the Camox during covid new for £240 including alpine bindings as it was too good to pass up.
My question is whether it would be make sense to swap out the bindings on the Camox for Shifts although holes would need to be plugged and might need to move the binding position. The Camox is lighter and skis shorter ("big" tip and tail compared to the Mindbender) and I don't ski it as much as the Mindbender, but it is handy in trees as lighter and very poppy.
Alternatively, I sell the Camox to offset some of the cost for a lighter ski and shift set up (QST94?
K2
don't make the 95 Pinnacle anymore or something else?). It won't quite solve the conundrum of having two main use skis but want to have a way for some flexibility. If I get more time later on in life or win more than £4 on the lottery, I will maybe look at a dedicated touring set up.
Any thoughts to help with my thinking?
Thanks

Why not put two lots of binding inserts in the Camox so you can mix and match bindings?
I have a pair of Mindbender 90C’s with inserts for trad Dynafit pin bindings and Marker Barons.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

There are helpful types on SH who can advise if there is a hole clash between your potential Shifts and your unidentified alpine bindings - thinking of Spyderjon and PisteOffice - it can often be redrilled without a clash. Quiverkiller inserts as mentioned by
@altis
are also an option.

@Tradstyle
, you can down load the paper template for the shifts which
Might allow you to understand if there is a clash.
You can usually get away with drilling twice so ‘should be ok’.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thanks all.
The current alpine bindings are Marker Griffons.
I like the idea of the quiver killer. Has anyone used the normal Canon for side touring?
