When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Bourg St Maurice Funicular in heavy snow

Hi Folks

Does anyone know if the Bourg funicular gets stopped by heavy snow? Going for a long weekend and considering staying down in Bourg for cost reasons - but don't want to risk not being able to access the slopes should we be lucky enough to have a big snowfall.

I've never known it get stopped due to snowfall. If it did most of the mountain would also be closed as lots of lifties and instructors use it daily

Never known it to stop due to snow, in fact on rare occasion it's the only 'uplift' in operation so can be used for mid station laps

We were just there in very heavy snow in bourg as well the funicular still ran

If you're used to the Cairngorm funicular's reliability in snow this bears no relation to that
