Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Off to Schladming to watch the Night races

Hoping for a big night for Ryding, Major and Taylor, and am undecided between standing on the hill (red zone) or blue zone (in the stands). Woud appreciate any recommendations from people who have been re ticket, and bars for the Apres.....

If you stand on the hill take something insulating to stand on, foam board etc. There's plenty of apres in the Hauptplatz pedestrian street. Bars will be busy.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@Nelson1j, I've just bought my Red card Cool. Like you, I'm looking to cheering on the boys....

I've been a number of times, and spectated both 100% on the hill and off, and IMHO you just can't beat going up there, and experiencing the cauldron like atmosphere. You can then go down into the town and experience the party. Whereas if you don't buy a ticket, you get the party, but have to watch any racing on a big screen.

I've never been inclined to spend the €89 for the Stadium card Toofy Grin

You likely won't get into any bars/hotels either, as they're all ticketed and rammed full

@Nelson1j, we've got red for the GS and blue for the slalom - see you in there for some waving of flags and cheering on the lads!

Experience of Kitzbuhel tells me to take a foam seat thing to sit on in the stands, and that there will be plenty of party happening outside of the bars! Hopefully similar in Schladming. Very Happy

Badly written from me there, sorry - I mean one of those little foam cushions, they were flogging them in Hafjell and it saved our frozen butts.

Unless you mean there are no seats in the blue zone?

@ElzP, I dont recall there being seats in the grandstand but I can't remember which zone I was in. IME grandstands are standing, certainly where we were in Schladming

Been to it twice now and think if i was going again I would only head in for the 2nd run ass it's a long wait between the 2 runs.
A great spectacle and great atmosphere in town after the races.
