Hi, I've not been on a package ski holiday for years but used to enjoy the club hotels - presumably these are still a thing?
Liked the fact that you weren't as stuck with people as you can be in a chalet, and that they're less formal and more mingly than a conventional hotel.
Just wondering what might be a realistic price for a basic budget-type place for flight, transfer and half board?
Wouldn't want to share a room but don't mind a tiny room or sharing bathrooms.
Not hugely fussed where it is other than in the Alps. Also, can avoid school holidays.
Thoughts/suggestions appreciated!
Thanks.

Maybe have a look at Hotel Aiguille Rouge in Arc 2000 through Ingams, which is a Club Belambra Hotel and can be good value for single occupancy.
It's not quite in the fashion of the traditional TO Club Hotel, which I think are scarcer than they used to be.

not so much. Several have disappeared. Generally, your own room (which is what I'd want too, though like you I'd be fine with sharing a bathroom) is going to cost a lot.
Years ago we went with Snowcoach to their chalet hotel in Valmeinier. That was OK and the coach travel, with extra ski time, was fine. They had a place in St Gervais too, but that doesn't seem to exist any more.

Not sure if this is what you are after but I booked (but have since cancelled, as now got a week with a pal booked) a single room at the youth hostel in Brides Les Bains. It has only just opened as a YH having been a private hotel until now. It's a bit of a schlep up to meribel (and back) but was very affordable access to the Three Valleys and I didn't mind the commute if I was going solo.

Try the Heidi website for good deals on single rooms. Back in April I had a half board week in a single en-suite room in Club Arc et Ciel in Les Menuires. Decent food, free wine with dinner and a great location in the Three Valleys. Including flights and transfers it was less than £900.

Thanks a lot for these replies.
So it seems the Club Hotel is pretty much a thing of the past.
Wonder why that is? Brexit? Maybe chalets are less common too (I've not been on a package hol for 15 years).
I have stayed at a few hostels including last year. They've been fine (well mixed!) but I was hoping for the classic week's package holiday so you get to mingle with your fellow holiday maker on the slopes, at meal times etc.
In chalets, it could be a bit claustrophobic if there were other groups sharing (we once ended up with some people who kept playing bagpipes!) but in club hotels it just seemed to work a lot better. It's the club hotel thing I'm more looking for rather than the cheap single room although the latter would be v nice to have.

There were enforced minimum wage increases that made the Chalet/Chalet Hotel way of doing things (free bed, board and liftpass and a bit of pocket money) unviable.
Brexit wascan obstacle too with the usual UK gap year students unable to work in the EU/EEA without a visa.

What about the PreBBWUB? Bashes are great value and much like a club hotel. Check it out

@Neil Neige, The place I suggested above was through Crystal (Aiguille Rouge) and was pretty much the cheapest Single Occupancy they had that year - especially as I had a loyalty bonus as well....However, I never got to stay there as Crystal lost their allocation and moved me somewhere nicer in Tignes (Aiguille Percée), for no extra cost.
If you went with a TO, it would be very likely that there would be others staying there along with you who you could meet on the transfer....and the Rep could possibly help with introductions with skiers from other flights, if necessary.
I have had some great weeks joining up with groups that I've met in hotels...and I'm a member of the SCGB who often have groups you can ski with in the bigger resorts as well.

UCPA?
Mark Warner still has a chalet hotel in Tignes. Not particularly cheap - and possibly not particularly cheerful either!
And there’s a chalet hotel in Champoluc.
Not tried any of them.

Thanks v much everyone. So it seems there are generally a lot less club hotels these days (so the budget stuff will mainly have gone) but the likes of Neilson and Mark Warner are probably the best bet.
This isn't for a solo trip for me. I've got a few different skiing friends but often there are just two of us and it would be nice for us to be able to mingle with others throughout the week! The club hotel always seemed best for this as a nice size and had a bar etc (unlike a chalet).
