Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Vail €304 Shocked

Paradiski (and Tignes VDI) are cheap by comparison at €76, although that is still a lot (£67).

The Dolomites are up there at €86, no doubt partly to cover the cost of all that snowmaking.

I think Zermatt-Cervinia is the record holder for the Alps, they crossed the triple-digit threshold (in Swiss francs).

It looks like Saint Hilaire in the Chartreuse has opened this weekend. Day tickets are 10€.

We've done this plenty of times before. Euro and North America pricing model are just different.
So compare season passes and its a different story...
Vail and all other epic resorts plus a load of partner deals in Europe/Japan/Aus was £797 for me.
Tignes/Val d'Isere £990.

I'll get 19 days (2weeks Whistler, 1week CransMontana) from my epic this year so that's £42/day. If I get an extra week in another euro resort on it then its comes down to £32/day.

adithorp, Agreed

We've gone Ikon this time - that along with some local passes will get an average day rate of £46, thats skiing 10 areas in Canada/USA for 23 days. Just over the hourly rate in a fridge I would think Toofy Grin

Is everything about skiing already been done to death?

Can’t help but notice the rehashing of decade old news appearing with more and more frequency.

Some may disagree @Peter S, but I don't think it's unreasonable to highlight a $300 a day Shocked US lift ticket and relentless (inflation-busting) European price increases.

After all, it's not everyone who has the time or money to spend on a season pass. My view is that day ticket prices could end up killing the golden goose, by putting off newcomers/youngsters - who are the future lifeblood of snowsports.

€86/$100 is a very, very fair price for skiing 1 day at Dolomites on a whim ... up to 8hrs of entertainment and work out comes to under $13/hr ... what other fun can you have for under $13/hour these days ?
