We are staying in Bourg at New Year. Has anyone got any local info please.
What does the parking at the Funicular get like in peak weeks?
Also same question for the parking at Breviere, St Foy and La Rosierre?
Has anyone got any good recommendations for eating out and watering holes in Bourg.
We are staying at the CGH place opposite inter sport but none of us are bothered with McDonalds. .
Cheers all!

There are buses shuttling around Bourg St. Maurice to take you to the funicular base. Otherwise, the lot is large, and with a base in Bourg you'll have a head start.
For La Rosière, I'd consider parking at Les Ecudets, saving the tedious drive up (granted, it's a slow lift). Again, from Bourg you'll be very close by. There's also a shuttle but not frequent, I wouldn't want to rely on it.
Can't advise about the other two.

Parking in St Foy shouldn't be an issue.

For dinner, Le Refuge is the place to go in Bourg! The whole menu is good, but the Croûte Savoyard with sauce aux cèpes is amazing.
Just get there early, as they don't do reservations, and line ups are common.

We’ve stayed in BSM for Feb half term last three years, there is always plenty of space in the carpark at the funicular.

We may just have been unlucky, but we were in Bourg on a Saturday night in Jan this year and every single restaurant we tried to get in to was full (well, that's what they told us...) We ended up buying burgers from a van and eating them in our hotel room... lesson learned: book ahead!

SF can get busy at NY as attracts locals on holiday, cheaper pass , but if the upper car park is full the lower won’t be with a shuttle bus in place . All the car parks are free

La Ruelle at the top of Grand Rue (further up from the Refuge) is a really Senegalese restaurant that also serves the usual Savoyard dishes too. Also, one of the very few that's open on a Sunday.
Le Chalet, which is close to Station, is always a good meal, although you will need to book.
Further up Avenue De Stade from where you're staying, there are a few places on the RHS, Restaurant Le Chamarel & Pause are family favorites. As above Cherry Garden is more or less opposite your accommodation and is good for Thai food.
Apres at the bottom of the Funni in Woodstock Cafe (formerly Charley's factory).
Cocktails and burgers in Esme which is opposite the train station, at the bottom of Grande Rue.
All are easy walks from your digs.

Could park at Villaroger and go straight up to 2000?

Thanks all! Some very useful info, I'll do my best to try them all!
@Donkeebles, Yes, I was thinking that is an option, they have a new lift from Villaroger, don't they?
Where we are its says its a 20 min walk to the Funni, just a bit too far maybe, so more likely to drive there. Probably do a day in Tignes, a couple in La Plagne / Les Arcs and a day at both La Ros and SF.
Looks like getting a booking or two may be a good option, certainly for NYE if we want to go out.. Raclette in the appt, may be an option followed by drinks out, not that we are too bothered with NYE festivities..

 You know it makes sense.

I've had some wonderful NYE meals in Les Arcs and I imagine they will be available in Bourg st Maurice as well. Arrive about 8 in the evening with apperatives have a 5 course meal with champagne and indoor fireworks at midnight and leave considerably poorer at 2 in the morning.
I'm not sure I'd drive to Villaroger to start the day there. There is quite a bit of parking at the funicular including an overflow car park and then there is the town navette. Actually, I'm not sure how you get back to Villaroger without skiing a red piste or walking up the Rhonaz lift, which rarely runs

The new lift out of Villaroger apparently comes with a 110-spot underground parking lot, but it is a 25-minute drive (edited: about 10 miles) past Ste Foy village then right (whatever shorter alternatives suggested by Google Maps are rubbish in winter, there are even signs telling you not to follow your GPS that way), so I am not sure it is particularly convenient vs. the 5-minute drive to the funicular. I guess you could try both and report!

Bourg to Villaroger is 6.6 miles so if it's taking you 25 minutes then I'd change up a gear

I stayed in Villaroger once and had to use it a couple of years ago when the funicular broke down ....it might be ok now but the run down from the top can be a bit hairy ( and misty) and there is absolutely nothing to do there

We stayed at CGH 2 years ago. Drove everyday to park at the funicular’s car park and never had a problem finding a space.

Yes, I think it was around €5 for the day. Although it was free when we were there last August.

@Gilly76, Thanks for the info. That's ideal, It also makes it easy for the kids to come back on their own if they want to stop early, and if we want to stop off for a bit of apres up the mountain.
