Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Les Arcs to Lyon Airport 25 Jan 2026

Poster: A snowHead
I am travelling back from Les Arcs 2000 to Lyon Airport for an 11.05am flight to London Gatwick on Sunday 25.1.2026 . Is there a way to do this without having to pay for an expensive transfer charge? If not who would you recommend I use? Thank you.

Welcome to snowHeads snowHead

Since you will need to leave the resort quite early (well before the funicular and bus services start) I suspect your first problem will be getting down to Bourg. I also suspect that finding a Sunday train or bus service that would get you there on time will also be tricky. But then I am renowned for knowing very little so maybe others with more knowledge have some suggestions? Guess it all depends what you mean by "expensive" Toofy Grin How are you travelling out?

I seem to recall that, at one time, it was possible to book an independent place on a tour operator's transfer bus, if they had spare capacity, but am I imagining that?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks for this

I arrive in Lyon on the morning of Monday 19 Jan and have sorted the train from the airport to Bourg to get me there early evening with the train price being very good around £10.

I think a transfer back is around £300 + so a huge difference !

Will check re a tour operator transfer bus and thanks ever so much for replying .

Regards

Nick

Train on Saturday night and a hotel in Lyon will be less than £300.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Yes that’s a good option thank you -the other is to change the easy jet flight to Sunday night so I have time to get the Bourg train as still less than a transfer overall !
