Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

@Alpinebear, nice to hear that!
Hmm, only 70cm at resort? Official Alpe d’Huez website says 120cm at 1800m? Is 70 cm a lot? Never been to Alps before so no idea.

Maybe the Tourist Office found a snowdrift! Snow levels are good and looks like more on the way.

 Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@Alpinebear, That’s fantastic news then! Thank you so much for sharing. Arriving to AdH with my gf tomorrow. Will be great to be able to see Alps panorama on Pic Blanc. Will this news be on the official website soon do you think? Smile

These might have been posted elsewhere already, but a couple of videos of avalanches below Pic Blanc...

The description for the second video suggests it was intentionally triggered, but I'm not sure about the first one.

Does anybody in resort know more?

Looks like it's been quiet on this thread for a couple of months!

If anybody's still here, do you know what the chances are of any/many lifts opening today given the overnight snow and the forecast winds? Looking out the window I can't even see any bubbles hanging from the Poutran lift, which obviously isn't a good sign!

 So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

Answering my own question, the pisteur down by the lift thought they'd be opening at about half nine, so we'll see!

Thanks @Alpinebear, the Alpette lift opened out of Oz first, with Poutran following a little later, and as you say more and more around the place as the day went on. Not a bad day in the end, despite the wind!
