@BobinCH, sweet!
We have Flégère cabines running till 10 Nov - there's been around a meter fallen, albeit rather windswept - and it's forecast sunny tomorrow... and the niblings are big enough for touring kit ...

One thing that sets Verbier apart from most other places is that they really don't work to a set opening day.
When there is enough...OPEN (on weekends)
We had a sneaky very early trip a couple of seasons ago, chatting with somebody over from PdS (I think) who said that area works to a set date, no matter how much snow there is/isn't.

@rungsp, I wonder whether this is simply down to differences in seasonal employment contracts?
I think (?!) in France, once the contract starts, the employer is then on the hook until the end of the season, so a fairly strong incentive to not be too premature with triggering it.
That said, many years ago, after a surprising snowfall in early December, Les Gets did open a couple of lifts and pistes.

I received the email this morning - good news!
Téléverbier is pleased to announce the opening of several slopes! Over the past few days, the peaks of Verbier have been covered in a magnificent blanket of white, with over 40 cm of fresh snow at Lac des Vaux. The 2025/2026 winter season can therefore officially begin in ideal conditions.
From this Saturday, 1st November, the Lac des Vaux sector will be open, allowing skiers to make their first turns of the season. The opening of the Attelas–Ruinettes sector will be subjected to favourable conditions.
Throughout November, the ski resort will only be open on weekends, before opening daily from 29 November.

Great conditions for opening day on Saturday. Only Lac des Vaux officially open but the closed piste down to Ruinettes had excellent cover although watch out for the dips! Couldn’t resist a few laps with shredette on Lac des Vaux ridge and skis survived with only minor shark nibbling. Was wet on Sunday but cooled down Sunday night with more snow so hopefully holds out for next weekend

To view, I switch my VPN to the US and I can see any imgur stuff.
If you want to switch from Imgur then consider avoiding any US-based media hosting sites. This has happened to me before, with Photobucket, so I switched to Imgur. Now I’ll be switching again. Considering going back to 500px (Canadian) as I’ve used them for more professional-quality picture hosting. You can also sell photos on 500px. But there are various others nearer to home in Europe. DeepSeek and ChatGPT will give you a run down.
Imgur are in a stand-off with the UK government because they won’t take any measures to control or supervise hosting of paedophilia content. You can request that they wipe all your context and delete your account if you want, which I have.
A lesson in not putting any important material only in one place - if you do have content you don’t want to lose, always back it up or save it somewhere else, with a completely different setup. So for example, if you store stuff in Google Photos then keep a copy on your desktop. Assume that any one of your storage locations may - as with Photobucket or Imgur or someone using AWS - simply go offline suddenly and not return. Note that with iPhotos on Apple, they have definitely stated this isn’t for reliable long-term media storage and they have no contractual requirement to keep it online, or consequential liability for loss of material.

@rungsp, hopefully they'll replace the Greppon Blanc 1&2 button lifts eventually too - Combatseline is normally the limit of my travels when in Verbier due to these superlong drags

I think that is true for a lot of people. It is a pity because there is some great skiing to be had over in Veysonnaz and Thyon. We do go over there quite a lot but we are based in Nendaz and so easier for us. Also I don’t particularly mind drag lifts.

@JohnMo, yes agreed - on the odd occasion I have ventured over there I've enjoyed it a lot, and it's certainly quieter
And I don't mind reasonable length drag lifts, but these are just a bit too long. That said my most recent set of boots are a lot more comfy and so my feet and legs hopefully won't complain so much

Not totally sure, but I believe they have to stay as buttons because they go over the Glacier, so fixed pylons not an option?

There are no glaciers anywhere near there. The nearest are to the south at Mont Fort. They plan to upgrade that infrastructure starting in 2026.

My error, I thought the top of it was a small glacier.
Would be good if they did sort it out.

According to my neighbour in Switz' who works for Televerbier the essential problem is that TeleVeysonnaz is owned privately by a group of local families who have been absolutely milking it.
The 4V agreement has been highly lucrative for TeleVey' and they have resisted all attempts to push them to invest, they knew that the traffic would come, and the cash would follow, because of the success and draw of Verbier, they could just sit back and let it happen.
The lifts that are finally (FINALLY!) being replaced are absolutely ancient and frankly an embarrassment for Verbier because visitors just see the 4V as a whole.
The excuse for the long, really long, drags of Greppon Blanc has been that it can be windy there and hence a ground lift is better....as if there are no other windy places that have solved the problem!

IMvHO - part of the attraction of that corner of the 4V is the slow / antiquated up lift
Helps keep the crowds down and the off piste fresh.
When its good l'ethygeon, and variations, one of the best places to find fresh tracks a few days after last snowfall.
Similarly Bruson. The new 6 man high speed chair and access gondola is cool.
But ease of access removed some of the soul and made the tree skiing way busier...

You won’t want to come back next year then!
ON THE HORIZON FOR POWDER HOUNDS
Looking ahead to the 2026/27 season, work begins this year on the Six-Blanc 6-seater chairlift in Bruson. Linking the bottom of Pissevache to the top of Grand Tsai, it will make the ‘Sur le Six’ slopes quicker to reach and further enhance Bruson’s reputation as Verbier’s soulful, powder-filled counterpart.

@BobinCH, a staggeringly pointless new lift.
Anyone skiing in Bruson can see the OBVIOUS place for a new lift that would open up new pistes, and great lift served off piste...a new Chassoure.
The Guides have campaigned against it and seemingly won.
Its a damn shame that they have...hey-ho, it is what it is.

Will it stop at the existing Grand Tsai station (2230m) or go up to Six Blanc (2445). Second option would be useful non?

Bloody hell. I knew there was a new lift from Carrefour(ish) to Savoleyres but they've gone and replaced the crappy 3 in lac (?) How did I not know this, my helmet will be pleased as that was where it came in most useful.
I also have read (same as @rungsp, ) about a new lift to replace the T-bar, poma and crappy 2, in the 'Chottes' bowl. though not until 2026/27. And I heard for the same reason.
Those Greppon drags got so bad, last season the unofficial-and-you-might-get-told-off route back down to join mid-piste towards Siviez was designated an itinerary. Turned it into the trickiest mogul run in the 4 vallees.
