Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Stories about queues

Here's another funny one. (Well I think so anyway).

Repping in Flaine, queue for the Lapiaz drag lift. I've got about seven or eight in my group. The line goes across the hill, with a rope (I think, maybe no rope) on your left where the level drops down sharply by about 30-40cm. Couple of French guys come from behind, then below us, skirt around the queue and step back up perhaps half a dozen people in front of us. Everyone was aware but nobody does anything, and I'm not about to make a scene while wearing the jacket, as it were, just shrugged it off. Anyway, we all get to the top of the lift, my group assembling on the left, and I see these two guys standing over on the right.

So I'm stood with my back to them talking to my group, and there's a couple of comments about them, to which I reply, quite loudly, "Yeah, they must have been Parisians". Apparently the looks on their face were priceless - either they were indeed Parisians and knew they'd lived up to the stereotype, or they were not, but realised that they were acting like it. Of course I couldn't turn around to look, would have ruined the effect.

Anyway, we were just about to ski off when two ladies arrived on the drag behind us and joined the two guys. Their wives, it seemed. Made it even more comical, the fact that they'd barged their way through while the ladies waited patiently in the queue like everybody else.

PSB Les Deux Alpes.
Jandri Express had broken and there was a Cable car that you could descend on from mid station.
Can't remember how long we queued for but we got back to the hotel at around 7.30.
It was Baltic people huddling together as after the sun has dropped it got very cold very quickly.

I haven't experienced it but i hear that Samoens has a bit of a queueing problem at the mo as a landslide misaligned the pylons...
