Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Logistics in val d’Isère (ski school)

Poster: A snowHead
So my kiddos are 13 & 7.

I’m considering options re: ski school on our Xmas trip.

We are staying in La Daille at Les balcons de bellvarde. I’m not set/wedded to a ski school brand here, just important kids are out following an instructor for some of the day. (Well tbh, I’m querying the value for the elder one but she’s said she wants to do some freestyle stuff).

What options have I got? Does staying in La daille prevent reaching the ski schools in val d centre by 9.30 in the morning?

I can see esf run out of La daille. Others seem to be in the town though. Is it a bus job? Can you take first lift and ski down in time? Is there anything else I need to consider?

Thanks!

@v1cky24, it depends on the meeting point, sometimes its at the bottom of the Olympic lift - so a bus job is easiest (takes 5 minutes), it could also be at the top of the funiculaire at La Daille

@v1cky24, there's no problem getting to the main meeting point in town by 09:00 from La Daille. The meeting points will be somewhere on the snow front from the Olympic or near the Solaise gondola or the Village free lift. Buses run every 5 mins at that time and it's usually easiest to get of at Rond Point after the tunnel. Note, the buses do get busy with everyone trying to get to ski school at the same time and so do allow a bit of extra time in the morning.

it's border line whether you will have enough time and you may have to go down the Face black piste if Santons is closed, which it often is. Even when open, it's a long flat finish, further jeopardising your timely arrival. Probably best to stick with the bus.
