 Poster: A snowHead

Hi guys,
me and some friends want to go skiing in LDA in the opening week this year starting November 29th till December 6th.
Can anyone with experience comment if it is a good idea and how the snow conditions and lift openings have been the last year?
Will only the glacier part be skiable at this time or how likely is it to be able to ski for example the Fée area?
Thanks in advance

You'll only know for sure on 28th November. If you're adamant about going that early, L2A is a good choice. The new lift system is excellent and gets you to the summit very quickly.

I got awful food poisoning doing that one year. So my advice is: avoid the chocolate moose.
The snow was good that year. It was November 6, before global warming.
The glacier isn't the best, solden might be open too.

But do you know how likely it is for areas below the glacier to be open like the FÉE area in the first week?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Nobody knows. But doesn't look particularly good as of now. There is no snow whatsoever at 3200m (webcam). Meteo predicts a dry spell until end of october. Fée is located 2080m. A lot of things will have to come together.

I don't think they plan to open fee area that early. I recon you should be able to ski the glacier area, signal, diable, and bellecombe. I think there is not enough people to open more than that even if there is enough snow.

@Steopold, this doesn't answer your question at all, but almost all of Hintertux is open then as long as the snow is ok. Plus, on your final day you could go ski the Mayrhofen area as that opens up on the 5th.

@swskier, I have been in the Zillertal every year for the past 15 and i know its beautiful. But im in Grenoble right now and only have time in the first week of december and get reduced ski pass prices there so im looking for close options here:). Otherwise i would just go to Hintertux

Treat it as a weekend away and it's a bonus if the snow is good.
I've been in the summer to L2A and really enjoyed it. Couple of hours on the snow and then a few beers in town.
