Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Trysil Norway snowboarding lessons for teens

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
We're going to Trysil over new year (25/26) and my 16yo is keen to learn to snowboard. But - SkiStar seem to be the only lesson provider and have nothing at all for his age group. Before I feel the wrath of the teen, can anyone recommend a suitable provider? He's already a good skiier and has had a couple of indoor sessions on a board. The only other option is to switch to a different resort eg Hemsedal, as we've already got London-Oslo flights booked.
All ideas/recommendations appreciated..!

Wouldn’t any adult group be ok for him if he’s 16? I’ve not been to trysil, but went to kvitfjell last year and really enjoyed it. The resorts in Norway seem to have pretty mellow terrain unless you’re activity seeking-out blacks. So he may be fine with a couple of YouTube videos to be honest (recommend the Malcolm Moore ones - it’s how I learned).

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@hjf, is this on line you are seeing this? Ring them, they are very good on the phone or look at privates as I assume you mean there are no group lessons above.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@ster, only looked online but waiting for an email reply from them. Will call tomorrow though, good plan. Happy to do private for him, he'd only need a bit to get started. I can't see any adult lessons either - v frustrating.

Do any other lesson providers operate in Trysil or is it only through SkiStar?

@hjf, only them in reality for ski . They own the whole hill. The ski school used to have separate website as far as I remember but its basically SkiStar owned.

They may put more classes on as the season approaches and as they finalise instructor availability , its a bit early.

But you may find some private instructors but I doubt it.
