Hi,
I'm looking to buy some new gear for next winter, can anyone recommend the best websites for winter clothing & ski goggles?
Have end of season sales started yet?
Thanks.

The sales have been going since half term.
The boy grew without permission and noted a week before we are due to go to VT that his new* helmet didn't fit anymore. All the winter sports gear is gone from our local Decathlon now so went onto Absolute-Snow.co.uk, and found a new Giro MIPS one for him there with £35 off the list price.
*turns out its 6 years old, I guess time makes fools of us all...

Could try decathlon, sports pursuit, glisshop, snowleader, absolute snow, or Nevisport. Had good stuff from those before.

I appreciate this probably isn’t too helpful… but I am in Arcs 1950 currently .
Sole on Snowboard boot decided to start to come away from boot, so went in search of replacement.
All local shops have sales on with generous discounts. Wary that the starting price was high, but I lucked upon a pair of boots that I wanted in my size at a good discount.
I checked price on Absolute-Snow and the price was £25 less than the current discounted price on there.
I picked up a leather pair of Level gloves last year in end of season sale in resort too.
So, if you have a late ski trip, don’t discount picking up a bargain in resort.

Or indeed on your summer visit. The only problem with a summer purchase is, however, you cannot test skis before you buy which is why I probably paid a bit more for the new piste skis I bought last week (490€ for Atomic RedsterTi, 30% off). If I was willing to spend longer looking I think I could have got an ex hire pair for a third of that price but I was amazed at just how bouncy a new pair of skis were.
You do have spend some time visiting a number of shops before you get what you want. It took 3 shops before I found some replacement leggings. Personnaly, I would only buy skiing stuff in the period April to August.

Sport pursuit usually has some crazy deals on high end gear. Likewise, Norrona online outlet usually has big reductions, though stuff moves fast. I got some Lofoten trousers less than half price a few weeks back.

As mentioned above take a look at Sport pursuit otherwise don’t get too hung up on end of season sales….I bought my Spy+ helmet during this season at the local sport shop close to our apartment at a cheaper price than they are currently on ‘sale’ for with one of the companies mentioned above.

Plus one for Sport Pursuit.
I have gradually been upping my Baselayer and mid layer game to Merino from them.
Very pleased with IsoBaa merino at a discount that makes the price paid not one to totally wince at.

Do sports pursuit have any shops or just online, I need a new helmet and goggles but like to try them on

@robs1, just on line AFAIK but not used then for a while. They may have had a physical address to pick up before but not a shop.

@robs1, just online - SportPursuit are a bit like TKMaxx - they buy up stock from stores and then move it on at a low price. They do have a good returns policy so you can always buy 2 or 3 and then keep the one you prefer and return the rest, assuming you can cover the initial cost.

I love Sport Pursuit and have bought loads from them over the years - just be aware that they ship from EU and it can be a bit of a gamble on how long the stuff takes to arrive - I've seen some bits arrive same week but other times its taken upto a few weeks (though Brexit induced supply chain disruption was worse back then).
So in summary - Great option for discount apparel and equipment prices but don't expect next day delivery...

If it ever arrives from Sport Pursuit. As I have mentioned before, their model often is not to hold or get stuck with stock they cannot sell, so they are offered stock to put on their site, they do not buy it immediately, instead they list it, "sell" it then go back to the store/brand knowing what they have already sold and make an offer. Then they buy the stock they have already sold and ship. If they don't sell enough in the pre-sale or cannot get the stock at the price they want from the store/brand , they scrap the sale and tell their customers that "sorry, there was an error in our stock system and we don't have what we sold you".
Sometimes they will have bought the stock they are offering already, thats the immediate ship items.
You can get some great bargains but do not buy something you definitely need as you may be disappointed if it doesn't turn up.

@ster I didn't quite know that's how it worked but there is a 'quick delivery' filter which I have always taken to mean the stuff they hold in stock (vs stuff they'll have to order).

@AliAfro, yup, that's the stuff they actually have in stock, the non-immediate is the dodgy sales build "stock"

I found that quite often October/November sales are same as good as end of season/summer deals.

re sportpursuit, they do extra 10% off from time to time, you receive this by email, so worth not rushing and have a patience.

@ed48, I would caveate that as I've often found those top-up discounts are often accompanied by an arms-length of T's&C's like minimum order size etc, or not being applicable to already discounted items, and you don't get to find out if it works or not until right at the very end when they've kinda snagged you already. Don't get me wrong - they offer very good discounts over list price already, but do you want to spend and additional £30 to get a tenner off a £100 order, or to trigger free delivery... just be aware.

Looks like I'm one of the lucky ones, email with a tracking number came this morning!
This is the bag I bought, thought it was a steal and looks pretty versatile.

Out of interest, is that with being used as carry on in mind?

Honestly I'm not totally sure, I hope so though. If that's what you have in mind I'll easily take a few dimensions and report how easily it squishes down when it arrives. I liked the look of the extra side pockets for boots if I was really struggling for space, I could see them being handy as I've seen people carrying them during check in a lot.
I bought the bigger brother heated version earlier this year because it was a bargain but it's far too big for anything other than my son using for ski racing at home, doubt I'll ever try and get it on a flight
BobinCH you're not wrong, pretty much every size in each garment remaining. Won't be too upset if it's garbage at 60% off but never seen any of it in the flesh before.

Can't quite figure out the shape with hand luggage in mind. I have an old ACG pack that works fine for a pair of largish boots top to tail and a Karrimor tarp pack that does the same (buttons at Sport Pursuit) both 30l I think. Not sure they still do the tarp pack.

I've spent a, frankly, embarrassing amount on Sport pursuit over the past 10 years or so. I'm amazed they don't send me Xmas cards. I've never actually had anything cancelled after buying it. Some things have turned up a bit later than the stated time ( check that, sometimes it's weeks) and last time it did they gave me a voucher as compensation. I hadn't even realised it had taken longer. Returns are also easy.
I generally avoid their own brand stuff (the brands they manufacture) and just stick to the ones I know. Also double check as sometimes is even cheaper elsewhere. Overall though I really like them.
Re: the hand luggage sizing, as long as it's a soft bag it's the filling that dictates the size as you can just jam it in the sizing thing. I got my ski boots, sallopetes, socks and more in the free carry on size. Much to the gate assistants amazement - and mine TBH. Was wearing my jacket so even if the skis had gone AWOL it wouldn't have been too bad. I use a Patagonia MLC either underfilled for free carry on, or totally stuffed for paid or BA or whatever. It's a good solution.

Purchased a pair of Atomic G8's in Hochsolden while there in March, discounted to 600 Euros. Got home and purchased an Atomic jacket and trousers from Sports Pursuit for less then the full retail price of the jacket
