Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I cant quite figure out the benefit of moving C2 only for cosmetics, and a small hight gain at the top. It looks like the top station of C1 is going to be higher up the piste.
Kappl is getting a new gondola station (top and bottom) as well.

If anyone's interested, the new (replaced) Poutran gondola from Oz up to Alpe d'Huez was finished in time and running okay for the season opening today, so congratulations to the team behind it! There seemed to be a few stop/starts particularly first thing, presumably while they made final adjustments, but nothing major.
The extended Rifnel Express looks finished, but wasn't running today though.

Just seen the Oz Facebook page showing off the new base station. Cycled up to the top in October an there was a ton of work going on, dump trucks everywhere finishing off works.

Three new lifts this season in Livigno. They've replaced the ancient Baby Lac Salin chair which serves a short blue and snowpark at the top of the mountain. I'm a bit sad about this purely out of nostalgia. It used to be fun to try to time your shuffle forward so your mate got a whack on the calves.
The most significant change is the new Altavista lift which replaces the old Blessacia II 4 man chair. It's a fancy 6 man, covered, heated seats job, with 472m of vertical. It's the highest lift served point in the ski area and is a long and important link between the Carosello base station in the south of the valley and the town centre 'Sitas' area in the north. It was always slow and freezing, which was great, because no one lapped it and there was a huge area of varied off piste underneath it. Definitely progress, but selfishly a bit of a loss.
I think they've also put in a short 4 man fixed grip chair serving the new Mottolino Olympic snow park.
Barring nursery slope drag lifts and the olympic lift, all of the main lifts in Livigno are now ultra modern Gondolas and high speed covered chairs. The lift pass price has crept up significantly over the past few years, but it's still an impressive ratio of price to quality.

I just noticed on the piste map for Fiberbrunn, and then checked the website, they have finally replaced the bottleneck drag lift F8 Maiskopf with a (2nd hand) chair lift.

I think they have also replaced the "grouped" gondola for the bottom section of the Streuboden lift. I thought that was last year, at the same time as the new top section, but I've seen videos from last season which still had that.
