Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Letter from Tignes resort to cover piste closures ?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Good Morning,

Has anyone been successful in gaining a letter from a resort confirming resort closure ? I was in Tignes during the huge overnight snowfall that closed the resort for 24hrs in April. All I have are screenshots from the Tignes app stating all pistes and resort are closed which my insurance will not accept as proof of closure.
Ive tried emailing the generic Tignes resort information "Contact Us" page but with no luck. Does anyone know of any other Tignes resort emails that I may be able to try to obtain proof ?

Thank you

I would try stgm@compagniedesalpes.fr

(from the STGM website).

You will then be dealing with somebody direct at the lift company

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Was there no form on the Tignes website to claim directly from the lift company? I was in Val at the time and had found a claim form for there and was ready to do it (happened back in 2018 as well when we were there, so I knew the drills) - but then the chalet company through whom we had bought the list passes sent one of their lads in on the Thursday night with an envelope of cash for our 7 pass refunds - which was an amazing service.

You can reclaim direct from Tignes here:-

The 17th April event is listed there

Vail Resorts will happily refund in cash on the day or otherwise, when they can't provide service. In my direct experience.
Presumably if you're insuring this, then STGM must not work that way. People complain about VR prices; perhaps they should factor this in.

Insurance companies have to behave reasonably though.

BA once refused to pay me for my airport meals during a delay, claiming I needed receipts I didn't happen to have. I offered them the opportunity to explain how I'd survived in LHR for 24 hours without incurring reasonable meal expenses, and also to provide their evidence that I was engaged in fraud, in front of our local court here as a small claim for the money they owed me.

They paid in full without further nonsense.

I was in Les Menuires that day. People got their pass for the day refunded by the lift co on request. I don't think I'd bother trying to jump through insurance hoops if the lift co won't cough up. I don't insure for missed ski days, I insure for major injuries.

Closed days pay out an ex gratia £50 on my free-with-the-bank-account insurance. Took me about five minutes to claim it the one time I did.
