Hi all, does anyone know of any luggage storage facilities in Mottaret?
i have a trip booked for the week before Christmas staying in an apartment in mottaret, with myself and my daughter, we will be travelling by train on the friday from London to moutiers, staying overnight there, then traveling up to resort early sat morning, returning via train to Paris the following sat eve, with an overnight in Paris and a eurostar back to London late on Sunday.
we will not be able to access the apartment until late Saturday, and will need to leave early the following sat, but will want to ski on both days, so will need to deposit our luggage, and be able to change somewhere after skiing.
i know there are facilities for this in both val thorens and les menuires, where the buses drop off, but cannot think of anywhere that would have this
in mottaret, ie bus station/leisure centre.
Google hasn't been my friend so far, but thought someone on here may be the font of all knowledge, or previous experience, of say a hotel in resort that may offer this service for a fee

@Dave of the Marmottes, not sure what the arrangement to pick up keys yet, i booked it through vrbo and have been contacted direct by the owner regarding arrangement for cleaning/linen etc.
it could be a key lock box, i have had this arrangement before, but will contact them again to see if it is an agency location, though i have had this before and the opening times have been quite restrictive.
cheers anyway

@terrygasson, Have you tried emailing the Tourist Office? It is next to the bus stop.

@terrygasson, is the apartment in a larger tourist residence? They may have facilities available.

@Hells Bells, i know the name of the apartment block, and it is in Le Hameau area of mottaret, not sure if it has any kind of office inside/close by, was hoping some mottaret residents/regulars had any advice.
we normally drive, so it has never been an issue, last time i went by public transport, it was to les menuires and i knew they had luggage storage at the sports centre, which was handily by the bus stop for the return journey.
i haven't stayed in Meribel for 20years, and never in mottaret, but i have not needed luggage storage then either so, stupidly, did not give it a second thought when booking

If it’s in Le Hameau, check with the Pierre & Vacances residence, they sometimes allow paid storage even for non-guest.

@terrygasson, never heard of any storage, don't think you will have any luck outside of perhaps a cave or ski locker in the building your in.

@skimottaret, cheers, i have looked at the properties that Pierre & Vacances have in mottaret that @zoldyr453, advised on and they advertise luggage storage, though not specifically mentioned for non residents.
i was going to contact them during the summer (presuming they open for the season) to see if this option is available.
they have a property close to where i am staying in Le Hameau district, along with a couple of others in mottaret

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

But they might let you leave it with them? IIRC the Tourist Office is (or used to be) quite large. Probably unofficially, so at your risk...
If you are travelling light, with say just a rucksack/holdall each, might your stuff fit in a ski locker? There are some beneath the Saulire Express lift in Meribel, I think prebookable for around 12 Euros /day. (I guess for ski lockers "day"usually means overnight, so the charging period might be noon-noon)

 You know it makes sense.

@terrygasson, I was thinking this myself. Surely this is a missed opportunity for a current business owner with access to some secure storage space. OUr commune has ski lockers, luggage storage and showers at the bottom of the pistes. Showers are popular with the motorhomers too.

@Hells Bells, yes it does seem surprising that even a resort like Meribel does not have any luggage storage facility, that is easily accessible, such as the Olympic park with its swimming pool etc, compared to Les Menuires and Val Thorens.
i can only assume that there has not been much call for it before, due to Meribel historically being mainly having hotels and chalets, whereas there is a lot more self catering apartments being built more recently, and maybe LM and VT were designed with these facilities more in mind, as the main bus stops and leisure centres are adjacent to each other in both resorts
i have looked at the ski lockers underneath saulire, and it does appear on the website photos that renting one of the larger ski lockers would be sufficient for my ski bag, but it can be a bit of a trek accross La Chaudanne in the snow with luggage.
at least i will have a last resort!!
