@brew99, not sure Chat GPT has a guiding qualification! I would not be inclined to be quite so prescriptive. Much depends on the weather, there is currently a suggestion of a brief colder snap this weekend with some snow but then with a return of spring but forecasts are always liable to change. Assuming typical spring conditions it is important to make the most of the conditions which is usually between 09:30 ish to 13:00 ish and avoid south facing lower slopes (ie both the Lech & St Anton home runs) in the afternoons. Note that the White Ring circuit involves a long though north facing ski route - Madloch, it can be best described as semi pisted, competent skiers will not have a problem but you can find bare patches, the odd rock and ice (though that is unlikely at the moment!). I would have thought strong skiers can do the whole circuit in a couple of hours or less so it will not fill up a day's skiing, Madloch excepted it is mainly easy blues or reds. Worth heading over to Stuben too. Rendl (part of St Anton) is often good with spring snow but it is a fair way from Lech. Generally best skiing in St Anton is from the Schindler gondola either the ski routes or the long run down to Rauz (lower parts get very soft later in the day). In terms of apres in St Anton the Mooserwirt is the closest to the village and (possibly) the busiest, basically loads of booze and Austro/Bavarian cheesy Euro pop (Sweet Caroline, Viva Colonia etc), the Krazy Kangaruh (just above the Moose) is the oldest and newly refurbished this year (some reports suggest it has lost some of its character, too much champagne not enough beer!), Arl One slightly higher up seems to be aiming for a bit of a Folie Douce type vibe with dancers & fireworks, a few other places - Senn Hut, Taps, Griabli & Base Camp at the bottom (often full by 16:00 ish). If you do somewhat over indulge in the beer and Fliegende Hirsch / Jäger Bombs there are taxis from both the Moose & KK. Also be careful with your skis and poles, generally theft is rare in the Arlberg except outside the St Anton apres spots (possibly related to folk not being able to recognise their own kit!).
Openskimaps gives a much better idea of the layout and distances than the official piste map.

@swskier It is true that a cooler spell is forecast for this weekend in the Arlberg. I personally doubt it‘ll make much difference to the conditions tho‘ others may be more optimistic. If I were in your position & wanted somewhere with snow sure itineries for next weekend, I‘d look elsewhere. For example, Sölden or Serfaus - both have some excellent Ski Routes and are likely to have better snow than the Arlberg at moment.

@Bergsteiger278, he’s looking for mogul fields to practice on, so doesn’t need cooler conditions?
I didn’t do any myself, but sure I saw a couple of itineraries that looked pretty well established bumps wise - trying to remember where, maybe below the Kriegerhorn lift in Lech (203?). All the blues and reds will bump up over the day, but will be pretty tame soft stuff compared to a full-on mogul field that I imagine you’d be examined on. Same with the blacks - eg I did 52 below zammermoos on Saturday after lunch, it it was pretty easy going.
@swskier, I wouldn’t plan a trip based on my dodgy recollections though.

I skied in Lech again this morning. I did the Madloch (Route 170 - see the post from @munich_irish oben) a couple of times & it was in good albeit pisted condition early on, beginning to break up later. The second time I took the left hand variation and that gave some reasonable moguls. The Langer Zug was also good (did it 2 x as first & last run) . Least said about the piste skiing from the level Hasensprung down, the better.

@pejoli He does need cooler conditions, otherwise the mogul fields will be too soft..(eg Route 202 in Oberle h which I did ca midday today ®retted because it was already sticky & soft)..

@brew99, I was in St Anton last week and it was fantastic sunny weather all week but so warm, it felt like summer most of the time. As others have said if you want firm snow then you need to get out early and/or stay high up. Zurs always seems to have the best snow conditions plus the higher runs in St Anton on Schindlergrat and above the lift station in Rendl and at the top of the Albona2 lift in Stuben. Rendl and Stuben are often overlooked by first time visitors to the Arlberg but they often have the best snow and fewest crowds. The worst runs are Steissbachtal (aka 'happy valley'), and run 50 back to town in St Anton, plus the home runs in Lech. All are slushy and unpleasant, the two St Anton runs I mentioned also have a lot of crowds and the difference in speed between the fastest and slowest skiers on the runs is high. There are some people that ski crazy fast and close to slower skiers on Steissbachtal, usually on big wide off piste skis, presumably making their way back from wherever they have been.
The apres ski options were mentioned by @munich_irish, and well described. There is something for most people depending on your taste in apres. Since Arl One opened last year (it used to be a bar called the Heustadl) it's become very popular, especially with Brits, it's probably the closest thing to a Folie Douce type place in St Anton. The Mooserwirt ('Moose') is the most famous bar though. You see a lot more people walking/getting taxis to it now not wearing ski gear than you used to do. I went into the newly refurbished KK just to see what it looked like but it was during the day so I didn't get to see how busy it was during the apres time, but the prices certainly have increased, I guess to pay for the new building. If you are in town looking for apres (not on the mountain), the Murrmel bar is very busy on the days that Gunar is performing there (usually everyday except Sat/Wed). He plays well known rock/blues/pop songs which can be a welcome change from the Europop in the Moose after a while.

How many times as that?

@Bergsteiger278, No, German is not easier for me. I'm Dutch.
Not that it matters because this issue is similar in Dutch, English and German I think.
In English, 'a couple' can mean two in the sense of 'a pair'.
The German and Dutch equivalent is 'Paar'
But when used in "I did Madloch a couple of times", it means 'a few times', and precisely NOT two, but MORE than two times. Because then you would say "I did Madloch two times", as it is much clearer/more precise (and less words). Also because doing Madloch twice on one day is already quite unusual.
In German this is about the difference between "ein Paar" and "ein paar Mal" (similar in Dutch).
Thus, saying "I did Madloch a couple of times" suggests you did Madloch three or more times on that day. Which would be veeeeery odd indeed.
Hence me being intrigued.

Skied in Lech again this morning. Was a bit cold earlier on. Took the first lift up, did Langer Zug in perfect conditions. Then it became misty so returned to Rufikopf with bus & skied the pistes to Zürs. Skied the Madloch again (1x so no ambiguity this time). Then the normally easy Route 177 taking a chance on „zum Teil nur geringer Schnee“ warning. By then it was sunny too warm so finished off via the Steinmähder & slushy piste skiing back to the Rufikopf bus stop. I‘m out of country for a couple of weeks, so this could be my last Arlberg report this season.

@swskier, additionally you'll find many more long -northfacing- bumps along the sides of the Madloch route (170), on the Furkawang route (222), Kriegerhorn Nord, Tannegg (216), and along piste 122 in Zürs

@langerzug This isn‘t the forum to debate English semantics. However, to me „a couple of times“ is precise (= x2) in a way that eg „a couple of beers“ isn‘t. This is due to the proximity of „a couple“ & „times“. In German, however, usage of „ein paar Mal“ however approximates the imprecision of „a couple of beers“ so is not the same as a „couple of times.“ (To my ears). It is, of course, possible that I‘ve used far too much German in recent years & my English is getting rusty. Suggest we leave it there so as not to hijack the forum.

Weather
There was a chance of snow tomorrow but that has dissipated
It will remain a mix of Sun & Clouds until Sunday
Currently its 13C in the St Anton
Yesterday it was again very mild in Austria. In Kufstein & Innsbruck it was 19C
The big differences start on Saturday. An Atlantic trough is moving in with a cold front but the snow is heading for the French Alps first
The weather models do agree on is that the emphasis is on the southwest and that there will be no large amounts of rain in Austria.
Only Vorarlberg still has a chance to do so !!
The start to the new week promises to be somewhat changeable and somewhat colder than recently.
On Monday, the system will temporarily turn to the northwest, leaving a tail behind it.
Then the chance of snow is mainly present for the north side of the Alps, i.e. Austria and Switzerland.
The BIG SNOW will come at the end of the Season when the lifts have stopped spinning and everyone has gone home .... That has been the recent trend with some of the best Powder Days.

Hey all - I (22M) will be skiing St Anton solo from Saturday to Tuesday. Very content on my own, but fun to ski together sometimes, so are there any ski groups/meeting places where this happens? Shot in the dark, but a day exploring the area with someone could be fun.

@brew99, I'd just add to the earlier posts on the apres ski, the Senn Hutte, skiers right off blue 50, has live music most days after 3pm. Mix of rock/pop.

I skied St Anton yesterday, and I probably should have come Saturday not Sunday with the weather. The snow when you got high enough on the Schindlergratbahn was good, but lower down around the Zammermoos and Osthang was really not very nice. 30cm or so of fresh on top of solid ice, which mean trying to ski the bumps on the side was a mixture of difficult, impossible and dangerous.
Did find some semi decent bumps on piste on the Rendl side after lunch, before I then headed back home on what ended up being an hour delayed train back to Innsbruck.
I can definitely see the potential of St Anton and why it's so popular, I'd like to come back when weather/conditions are a bit more favourable.

@munich_irish, I ended up skiing the whole day with Kev, and we didn't head up to the Mattun runs. Visibility wasn't great in general around the middle section of the mountain, so we just toured around before heading over to Rendl at lunch time.

@swskier, Kev is a good guy, he would know the best spots. The Arlberg is not ideal in poor weather, Rendl is sometimes called "sunny Rendl" as it is often clear whilst the clouds hang around Galzig etc

@munich_irish, visibility was better over that side, but I suspect it probably cleared up a bit on the "main" side too. Up at the top of Schindlergrat was stunning, blue skies and above the clouds with peaks popping through. I also love the look of the run straight off the west side of the middle station of Schindlergrat.
It's very clear how much easily accessible off piste is available plus the itineraries, I totally get why it has it's reputation. I'll be back!

Things are getting out of Control here ....its February
What should have been a normal winter sports evening ended in a chaotic brawl/riot in St. Anton am Arlberg (by the Galzigbahn) yesterday. Around 9:00 p.m., a group of 10 to 15 people was spotted by the police, attacking each other with skis and snowboards.
The incident resulted in injuries and an arrest.
Police intervene
A large-scale brawl was observed in St. Anton am Arlberg by a patrolling police officer. Around 21:00, 10 to 15 people got into a fight with each other and used skis, snowboards & Helmets as weapons.
Two wounded, one arrested
During the brawl, a 51-year-old and a 48-year-old Argentinian man were injured.
The nature of their injuries is still unknown.
The police managed to arrest a 24-year-old Dutchman as a suspect. After further investigation, an official indictment will be filed against those involved.

Weather
Nice weather will continue for the time being. High pressure will also ensure good weather unitl Friday.
At the weekend, the high weakens only a little.so the weather is much more changeable.
A few daytime showers cannot be completely ruled out on Saturday and Sunday.
So the weekend will be a little colder than we been having , especially higher up in hills .
Next week,
The weather will stabilize again, but there will be no drastic improvement in the weather. Monday and Tuesday very cloudy with little sunshine. However
SNOW is NOT EXPECTED
