The Mezzalama ski touring race was taking part on the Monta Rosa plateau at the time of the incident and maybe why there are so many climbers on the trail.
This is not the first time the Geneva pilots have been up to no good, 2 years ago they illegally landed close to the summit of le Mont Blanc

Well he nearly caught his right wing tip on landing which would have been catastrophic. To then taxy at high speed between those folks is just downright stupidity. Hopefully, the authorities will pull his licence. He is a dangerous cowboy!

@altis, If it is a hoax its a very complex and convincing one. Put HB-OKB into a search on Flight Radar 24 and click on playback for its last flight - looks pretty real to me. (Other apps are available - Judwin is a wizard with those)
The ADSB data looks genuine to me. It's not impossible to fake, but something was pinging "4B25FD" in that area at the correct time, the video shows HB-OKB as the civ-reg, and 4B25FD is allocated to that airframe. Looks like there might be several dozen eye witnesses too. I don't know, but if the plane crossed from CH airspace to IT airspace, I'd have thought a flight plan would have to be filed. I do know swiss air defence don't work weekends (they assume countries from the N, S, E & W will have dealt with any threat first).
The same plane also got very close to Mt Blanc at about 7am Swiss time on 11th April during a 2.5 hour trip around CH starting and ending at Geneva.
I'd guess the air-rozzers are going to be knocking on the door of a hangar at Geneva flying club shortly if they haven't already.

This is quite alarming as it’s only a few years since this , helicopter picking up Heli skiers and guide hit by plane , I don’t know what the final outcome was but it was suggested that the plane was not supposed to be in the area and had been warned against this previously.
