Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Sorry, this may be completely clueless question as I’ve never owned my own skis, but I’m interested in these for a similar purpose. Would it be easy to change the setting on the bindings for my boot size or is it a professional job only?

@abricotine, they are rail bindings, like hire skis. No problem adjusting bindings if you know what you are doing or can follow instructions. The video linked shows them to be Z12 bindings on the RaceTrack rail, and you can clearly see the dots and boot size labels above and below the RaceTrack logo in the video.

The only slightly difficult bit is working out where to find the forward pressure indicator, and knowing what the correct reading is. And knowing what DIN value to set them to, if you don't already know.

@abricotine, nice ski but maybe a clueless question : you’ve made sure these will be long enough for you or the purpose you intend?

@ousekjarr, thanks, I did think/hope they looked adjustable so that sounds very promising!
@ster, thanks, I’m only 161 and tend to take a 150 indoors at Hemel (I’d go a bit longer outside in the mountains) so definitely tempted!

Hi.

150 is a good option for indoors for your height. Many people who are 175 or taller ski use 155 at Hemel.

I’m pretty sure the forward pressure is set automatically on adjustable bindings . The DIN is easy to set up. The Hemel crew could probably do it for you. It’s generally based on ability and weight (I do my own).

@archaway, thank you, I have only skied the RC4 PWR before — wonder if these could be on the stiff side for me so if you have another buyer go ahead

Hi yes the skis are available.

These skis are not very stiff at all. I think they are a forgiving version (possibly junior but I’m not sure).

I found them forgiving and easy to handle (but that’s obvs personal opinion ).

They look like fantastic skis so I’m a bit gutted

Last sale fell through. They didn’t have correct ski boot soles.

Actually available again. I’m on holidays at moment. Will be back in UK for pick up Monday if you are still interested

Strange that, I thought that generally GW boots would go into non-GW alpine bindings, and that it was non-GW boots that couldn't go into GW bindings

@ster, other way around - standard alpine bindings came first, therefore GW boots had to be compatible with them.

Thanks for the info, it's my son that wants the skis, for indoor use at Hemel, however his boots also have gripwalk soles so I'll check whether he is still interested, he does have standard alpine soles that he can swap on to his boots, but I'll need to see if that's something he wants to do or not. I must admit I didn't consider that the skis would not have GW bindings but they look as if they are 2018/2019 model so I guess GW boots were very new (if existed at all) back then.

I'll send him a message and we'll let you know tonight if he's still interested

Thanks,
John

I’m on holidays at the moment . Once I get back home next week , I can have a look at the bindings and see if they accept grip walk
