Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Just a heads up if you use Hertz for car hire in Munich. I always look ar what car companies charge for cross border fee. I tried to add in advance on my booking but couldn't find a way. So I contacted their chat agents and got told I need to add at counter.
The booking confirmation clearly stated the amount it would cost on confirmation email:
Cross Border Fee • If the vehicle is driven outside Germany a Cross Border Fee of €41.65 (including tax) will apply except for customers on business contract rates
So I was very surprised to be charged €52.xx. (cross border fee listed as €35 which is the 41.65 Inc tax).
I contacted them the additional fee was the "Airport service fee" despite this being something I could ONLY add at the airport.
Make sure you factor that in when comparing!

I had the go straight to the car option with Hertz and had to pay the cross boarder fee at the booth where you collect the car .Dont remember being over charged .
Went the following year with OK rental car and charged the same fee so its not unique to Hertz.
We drove to Austria so had to buy the toll sticker also but still cheaper and flying to any of the Austrian airports
