What sort of size/accommodation are you looking for? I think 100 euros a night, in Meribel, is probably a bit optimistic, especially if you don't want to share a bed with your son. I've paid that for a very ordinary room in basic sort of hotel in a dull English town in a non-holiday period! Meribel is an expensive resort.

800-1000 Euros for 7 Nights is very much possible in Merible. This year we stayed in Les Menuires and we paid around 700Euros for 6Nights in 2nd week of Jan.

That's good value - Les Menuires is generally cheaper than Meribel.

Prices generally go up each week as January goes on, too, as the chances of good snow are better, and the days longer.

@ankitind, have you looked into staying in meribel-mottaret?
generally cheaper than Meribel itself, still in the heart of the 3v's with good links to other areas, with a lot of ski in-ski out accommodation.
there is a free shuttle bus that runs till late from Meribel centre to Mottaret if you want to try out the apres/nightlife of the main resort

Agree on all fronts. Booking.com tends to be my absolute last resort (it can be handy to scope out options, but then book them directly). It is known to be generally pretty poor if things go wrong, as well.
I agree Meribel-Mottaret is a better option if you are not going for the Meribel vibe specifically — better connections to high altitude skiing on the VT side, Mont Vallon etc. And better value. But I think still going to cost you more than Les Menuires which is well known as a real bargain.

We don’t upload our availability until mid-September across the portals - booking.com, Airbnb, Vrbo etc and one isn’t live earlier than any other, as like many owners we use a channel manager which interacts with multiple sites. We have found previously that those who book very early tend to be most likely to cancel at the last minute for the expensive weeks, which causes an issue hence the Sept date.

On both sides - they are notably unsupportive. It’s a shame there are no real alternatives who match their over-bearing market position.

That's a great insight. I think Aug and September will be the months when listings will go live.

I have booked an accommodation in MéribelMottaret for 7N around 130Euros a night.
But struggling to find good accommodations in SaaS Fee around christmas, so had to book a accommodation in SaaS Grund. Interestingly, magic pass only allows you to ski in SaaS Fee.
I have a car. How far is SaaS fee from SaaS Grund? Is it manageable ?

@ankitind, Saas Fee from Saas Grund is 5 minutes on a bus.

Is bus service frequent between SaaS Grund and the SaaS Fee lifts?

I've been looking at places for 11 people for Christmas - so far this morning 4 places I've rented before are already let. It's absolutely not too early to book if you have specific requirements.

I used to load availability for my apartment and our coaching holidays at the end of Aug but have found more and more people are enquiring at the tail end of the current season so have gone live with prices now. Our first holiday in Dec 2025 is fully booked already and the second is filling fast, crazy... Last week I had a booking for New Years in the apartment and several enquiries for Feb weeks.

@Hells Bells, I quite like VRBO and get a fair amount of bookings there, AirBnb used to be a total hassle as everyone wanted long weekends but now that you can set arrival and departure dates works a bit better.
Booking dot I sorta hate as always tends to generate the most issues with tenants, Just turned it off, good reminder !

@Faust1 Curious as to what "channel manager" you use.. Do you not have a no refund policy set on the portals?

@robs1, You can also get 3 days each in any/all of Adelboden-Lenk, Aletsch Arena, Engelberg-Titlis, Jungfrau Ski Region. Oh, and 5 days in Verbier, and 3 days in any of around 20 other French resorts, listed here https://www.skidecouverte.com/#sataionsSkiDecouverte (yes, including the typo).

Yes will probably stay in cheap hotels while we do some of those , we had the french ones on our mont blanc unlimited pass and usually used them up, it's a good way to discover new places for free.

@ankitind, I see MdC is on your list and I've been monitoring this, there is suddenly quite a bit of availability on booking.com but a lot (most?) is Sat-Sat only. Mid Jan there are a couple of apartments for ca £900-1000 the week although you can get half board at Hotel Bonapace for ca £1350 (mid range family hotel with pool etc). ps B&B there £970

Thanks for this. I appreciate it. I have booked an accommodation with kitchen in Commezzadura for around 70Euros per night. MdC is too expensive. I have a rental car, will use it to travel to nearest lift everyday.

I next to never use booking.com for the main family holiday. I’ve never found it to be good value.
Sunweb/snow trex etc, which provide lots of accommodation options (and lift pass incl.) don’t have the full range of availability out yet. Usually I find it is around June time.
I think you might have sorted something so this is probably moot! Just sharing my two penneth!

This is very useful, I already have Magic pass and Epic Australia pass - so no need passes but will check sunweb and snowtrex for many places, I am not able to find accommodations
