Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Has anyone had any experience hiring skis in Whistler. My wife and I board and have our own stuff so we will be taking a board bag. We usually rent for our 2 girls, the skis will be for over a 9 day period for my kids and the prices that I've found so far are approximately £300. At them sort of prices I'd rather buy my kids their own skis and boots. Might be a bit more expensive but at least they would have the skis for a few years and could sell the boots as they grow out of them on eBay. Wondering what anyones take on it is. TIA

We had a similar dilemma last year in Banff. We decided to buy the kids some eBay skis and boots. All the shops seem to have eBay stores for selling off last years kit. They arrived within about 2 weeks from ordering so allow that.
Me and the Mrs both have our own ski bag so we just put one pair of the kids in with each of our own.
We’ve also just sold them last week for £30 less than we paid.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Only been for shorter breaks but we hired from Spicy sports both times as their prices were not bad. Decent skis both times (I got

black pearls). Never done the sums myself but may be a worthwhile point of comparison

Think we will go the ebay route or see if we can find them at a reasonable price ın a store/online retailer. Thx
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Buy then sell again. Kids stuff tends to retain its value ok in our experience
