@rdsweb, ah great work finding that link. Incredible how quickly they’ve dismantled the old bubble arrival station. Looks so much better for it too now and makes the new picnic building look great.

@Jonpim, I just can't see them doing it when Bellecote has such a problem with queues they don't want to be advertising that. Maybe the new RdM Bubble will make a massive difference to the queues........ time will tell....
Ironically, if they had the webcams linked on the Yuge app piste map then you could check and see how busy lift queues were and avoid them, thus smoothing out the flow of traffic a little.
Looking forward to the first flakes of the white stuff falling over the next month or so....

Actually, whilst I'm here, does anyone know when the Oxygene office (Belle Plagne) starts being manned again? We booked ski lessons for next Feb online and I just need to check some details on ski passes with them

Slight tangent, has anybody managed to go on the piste basher excursion / tour?
I’ve seen it advertised in La Plagne and tried to contact / buy tickets but with no success.
Are there any hacks to getting onboard one whilst it is working?
I sense my sons and I could spend hours in a piste basher one night, whilst my wife shakes her head in disbelief as she wanders off to bed! |
There was a time in the past when for a beer the guys would give you a quick run around in their Pisten Bully but now with H&S its strictly forbidden.

Spot on - and they've replaced it with some lovely wood by the looks of things - wonder if they're doing away with the plastic shuffle matting across all lifts in favour of something more sustainable??

Just seen that the La Plagne website has an offer on lift passes of up to 40%, ending 23.10.25. For a 6 day Paradiski pass in Jan they are only giving 10% off. Is it worth taking or are do other offers come up? This will be my first trip to La Plagne. Thanks

Another serious side effect of Covid that is hardly ever mentioned: no snowfall in MONTALBERT!
Not even Professor Spector has noticed this one . . .

Just had an email about double discount on family pass deals for half term weeks:
“ La Plagne has a few new surprises in store!
Save the date, 29 October 2025, for a special promotion exclusively for families. Are you in? ️
Yes, even the school holidays get their own special offer!
From 7 to 13 February 2026 and 28 February to 6 March 2026, family benefits will be doubled.”
Could be of use for some….

I have done the research consulted the Oracle and have established we had some snow and managed to ski despite Covid. _ we even purchased special "La Plagne branded buffs that also meet face mask standards for Gondolas and lift queues"

Well done for finding the Oracle boredsurfin. There was definitely skiing back then further up the hill when the resort made the brilliant decision to stop the lifts but keep the buses running, so you could ski from 2000 down to La Roche and then cough over everyone while you queued for the buses and then cough some more when you got packed into the buses. The virus had a field day.
The Meteo France weather does look promising skichampcouk, but it seems undecided on the rain/snow mix. A lot can heppen in 2 weeks.
The resort though is clearly optimistic, hoping to have a free pre-opening weekend on December 6/7: https://www.skipass-laplagne.com/en/pre-opening
Meantime, there are gondolas appearing on the Col de Forcle to Roche de Mio section of the new lift: see webcam

That's good to see. Wonder if La Plagne and Les Arcs will ever return to opening most of the domain on that day? It used to be nice having two full weeks before the Christmas week. The very first week was always extremely quiet, and if we were lucky with the snow it was quite blissful.

Thank you @rdsweb.
Now fun looking for the changes - like one of those kids puzzles.
I've spotted two:
1. Les Bois, the run down to Champagny, has gone from red to black
2. The short black off Roche de Mio onto Levasset is now shown and got a name: Pentue

@Jonpim,
2. - I thought it was always there on piste maps, and called "Mio"
Edit, I see what you mean, Mio is still there, but they've added a new piste joining higher up on Levasset.

Tell me the forecast is unsettled, without telling me it's unsettled:

Next Snow Expected 20 November
Next Snow Amount 6cm
Next 48 Hours 7cm
Next 7 Days 72cm

That came from the quick and easy (but not necessarily very accurate) J2SKI. I was enjoying the snow on the webcam - we're arriving on the 13th, so less than 4 weeks now...
Not sure where they get the forecasts / predictions from. The next few days can usually be relatively useful. The 7 days or more often yoyos around like mad with each hint of a different system taking control. Happy to see snow today; not counting on 2+ feet landing in the next week.

Well, that's good news, thank you @Jonpim.
I check in here, and look at the occasional forecast, but our holidays are usually booked well in advance - the weather will be what it will be. And 1st week of the season, it'll be glorious, or a week of board games and hiking, or most likely somewhere in between and that's okay. At least, that's what I try to keep in my head - reality is I sneak peeks at forecasts and get very excited!

@boredsurfin, I take your point that there doesn’t appear to be any info on this on their website. Having said that they automatically charged the senior sub when I turned 65 so I’m assuming they will charge the appropriate daily rate for my age for the resort we are in. I also have to admit that I hadn’t noticed in previous years that La Plagne/Paradiski charged a discounted rate for 65 - 75 year olds. Is this something new?
