 Poster: A snowHead

Bit late to the party on this (who knows - maybe my lost phone will emerge from the slush around Les Coches) but it was warm enough to have the lizards emerging from the rocks last Friday. Last day was warm enough to be thermal layer free from the top of the glacier down to the base.

@Specialman, your description of the bakery was basically catnip and I now have a haul of treats for the journey home. The staff were very nice too.

 Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

A very enjoyable 9 days, based in Plagne 1800. Weather changed from fresh snow, with proper deep winter temperatures at the beginning, to summer skiing conditions the last couple of days. Wildflowers suddenly bursting into bloom on the south & west facing rocky outcrops high up.
Wonderful to meet up with @PeterM and @Jo225. Not just a pleasure to ski with*, their area knowledge took us to some lovely restaurants, where the views, food, conversation and ambience were the highlight of the day.
Well, when I say ski with*, I mean try to stay in touch with the vapour trails enough to keep @PeterM in sight
Feeling fortunate to have got lucky, after 19 months away from skiing. Onwards & Upwards,
.

@HerecomesCarol, "catnip" - love it
I went in with my boy and he bypassed the glorious sandwiches and went straight for the fruit tarts - he came out with a little box, opened it up and just stared at the immaculate little treat inside for a good 30 seconds before devouring. Small pleasures and all that

Prompted by johnE on the Les Arcs thread mentioning it was snowing there, I've had a look at La Plagne webcams, and they show it is snowing right down to the Bergerie lift, making for a rather lovely scene (click on the live version).
Not so pretty in Plagne Centre.

 And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.
