Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

ESF Les Menuires class queries - mtg points & children's offers

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hoping someone knows the answer to this so I can book the right lessons in Les Menuires (going on 5th April!) Have never been to Les Menuires before so...

Toddler's/Pre-School Class - The Les Menuires ESF site says my 4 yr old qualifies for a free '6-day Aqua-Fun Park Pass' - included for free with his lessons if he's under 5 yrs - but I can only see a tick box online to purchase it for an extra £46 with ESF (for 5 yr olds) - instead of a tick box for £ the free 4 yr old purchase. How do we obtain the Free pass whilst booking on-line pse?
OR, is access to the Aqua Fun Park free for under 5 yrs generally, regardless of any ski lesson bookings?

How does the 'Kids Fun Gliss' class (if booked for mornings only) differ from normal pre-school age 'morning ski lesson' class? For the morning, do the little ones in the Kids Fun Gliss class have eg. one hour's skiing lesson 9-11am and then one hour in the Aqua Fun Park 11-12 noon? Are they supervised by ESF teachers in the Aqua Fun Park before lunch?
OR, are the Kids Fun Gliss classes just like normal ski lessons but parents get given the free pass to use with their children after pick-up?

Does the Aqua Fun Park/pass include any swimming pool(s) entry?

Adults Level 3 Class - For booking this on-line they don't seem to meet up at Reberty 2000 (only the Beginners and Level 1 meet at Reberty 2000). Is this because they fill-up or do Class Levels 2 and 3 only ever meet at La Croisette and Les Bruyeres/1850? (I'd prefer to start classes where my hubby and kids meet at Reberty 2000 but it looks like I'll have to go to the other meeting points?)

Is Les Bruyeres the nearest & easiest meeting point to access/ski to from Reberty 2000, if Reberty 2000 is unavailable for meeting up for Levels 2 and 3? Or is La Croisette the better starting point? Our chalet (Eva) will be in Reberty Village near the ESF Reberty 2000 school. I'm hoping it'll be easy to get to my Level 3 class from the chalet without walking too far - is it possible to ski to it at Les Bruyeres or La Croisette or won't there be enough snow? Also hoping to ski back almost to door in Reberty 2000.

I have emailed the above to ESF twice but no response and don't want to miss out on booking if classes fill up?

Thank you for reading!

 Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person
Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person
about the last two questions :

i suppose the demand for Class Levels 2 and 3 are not so hight thats why the made the course only in the more central points

i think its easier to go from Reberty2000 to Les Bruyeres
Looking the map (and as i can remember) the Reberty 2000 meeting point is going down the slope on the right. If your chalet is there, you could simple go down the slope till the meeting point in Les Bruyeres

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

that seemed so unlikely that I looked at their website - which says kids must be supervised by responsible parent or guardian.

Thank you turms2 and Origen,

Origen - yes I saw that too on the ESF site - so it seems like they offer the pass for parents to use separately but what's confusing is why offer the 'Kid's Fun Gliss Class' if they don't get supervised at the Aqua Fun Park? Is this option any different from the normal 4 year old ski class? Both class types cost the same but seem to indicate using the add-on button for the 46 Euro Aqua Fun Park pass if the child is aged 5. However it says the pass is free if the kid is under 5 (but with no button option for the free pass).

I just want normal ski lessons for our child and great if there's a free pass offered but it's not clear how to book it.

I also looked up the Les Menuires guide for families https://lesmenuires.com/en/families but it says Fun Parks or Aqua Parks are free if the child is 3 and under, not 4. So adds further confusion!

Does anyone happen to know where the Aqua Fun Park that ESF use for their Kid's Fun Gliss Class is located?

not sure but i think :
if you book only the ski school, the others have to pay it selft.
With this "bundle" you have ski school, and other Activities, meaning probably will cost you a little bit less as paying everyday to go in the pool or the fun area. The ESF will not supervise the kids , except the ski course.

@Mo24, Chalet Eva is a Ski Famille chalet, isn't it? If so, they should be able to help with the kids lesson/passes questions.

Easiest meeting point for Classe 2 & 3 is Les Bruyeres - straight down the Boyes piste, which is the closest one (and the one you cross to get to the beginner drop off). It's an easy ski if you are class 3 standard. Your only problem might be if you need to be at kids drop off and your lesson starts at the same time. But assuming your husband can manage this then you can simply ski down to the meeting point.

Thanks turms2 and mgrolf.

mgrolf - yes it's a Ski Famille chalet but booking ESF through them costs more than booking independently so they may not be able to help with direct ESF queries.

I think we'll probably skip the kids Aqua Fun Park pass as not sure we will want to visit the pool/fun park every day as there might be other things we want to do like La Mine toboggan etc.

Thank you for confirming the route to the Class 2/3 lesson. I have lift pass queries I'll start in another thread.

@Mo24, I would definitely take the hit on booking ski school directly through Ski Famille. More likely for your little one to be with other English speakers. Also simpler for your own ski classes too, I would have thought. If the Aqua Pass is free for your kids it will probably just be provided.

@Mo24, I think I would agree with @Hells Bells, and do the booking through Ski Famille. In my experience of seeing Ski Famille guests in Les Gets the small children were brought along to their classes (that was with 360 ) by some of the SkiFamille nannies. It was a slick operation.

@Mo24, I really wouldn't try and save a few quid by booking ESF direct. You're defeating the object of using a family tour operator.

From what I've seen of Ski Famille in Les Menuires, it effectively has its own ESF classes; there are lots of Ski Famille kids reps/"nannies" helping out getting kids to/from these classes and making sure they're ok during them. The kids are also generally together with other UK kids.

If you book direct, you risk having to deal with all logistics yourselves (getting kids to/from ski school all the time) as well as mixed-nationality classes.

If you've booked via SF and have a problem, you deal with SF which has a lot of local clout - if the instructor is late/unsuitable etc, the rep sorts it out. If you deal with it yourself, you risk a Gallic shrug.
