 Poster: A snowHead

I see there's a ski depot at the Idalp in Ischgl, which seems like it would be super convenient for leaving skis overnight. But it can't be booked in advance, so I'm wondering if people have ever found that it was full (and if so, at what time in the season)? We are there from 5-12 April.
I guess that if it was full we could just take the skis down the Fimba and leave them at the base depot, so not a big deal, but I like to have a plan...

I was in Ischgl last week and saw outdoor open ski storage spaces that cost €1 to leave your skis. They were just at the top of the lift to the Idalp. There was lots of availability.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks, but I'm hoping for cupboards with boot dryers.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

If you use the depot at the bottom you will avoid the whiff of sewerage that seemed to linger about the top station at Idalp
Not a big deal but chose to go elsewhere for our end of day refreshments last week.

All good down to mid station after that very mixed back to Ischgl from ice to slush in places. We never went all the way down pm.
Smugglers run 80 was staying in good condition the days we went that way.
Not into off piste not my thing though looked to be plenty cover but crusty.

Having returned from our trip, I thought that if others have the same query it would be helpful to record my experience.
We decided the depot at the Fimba gondola base was just as convenient, and a bit cheaper, so we went for that. It is just an escalator ride away from the gondola, so you could hardly have a shorter walk with skis. The depot facilities are excellent. Efficient boot driers and even glove driers. The guy on the desk also seemed to take it on himself to go round helping people get their boots on and off, so chapeau to him. €58 for 6 days, with room for gear for 2 people, so less than €5 per day.
There was lots of room and I'm sure there would have been space at the depot up the mountain, but the whole resort was pretty quiet so early April is obviously not busy in Ischgl. I don't think we ever queued more than a minute for any lift, and rarely felt the need to wait for the piste to get emptier before setting off.

@koru, Thanks for that info, I went to Ischgl the week before you, what a fantastic area to ski, excellent conditions and a great time to go, like you I barely had to share a chairlift with anyone the whole week, will definitely be looking at a return visit.
