Good morning, could you advise please where is the best place to ski from April 1st to 5th, where there is guaranteed good snow on the slopes and a good children's ski school? Thanks in advance!

The north-facing/south-facing phenomenon hit home with me yesterday. We're in La Plagne at present and the last few days have been extremely spring-like... beautiful blue skies all day long and very warm. It's how I would normally expect early April to be in other words. And the difference in the snow across the resort is striking.
To take one example, yesterday afternoon (2pm or so) we skied from Les Verdons (2500m) to the bottom of Verdons Sud (1830m) in Champagny on Kamikaze/Hara-Kiri/Bozelet and it was soft, soggy and very churned up all the way down. The snow felt like mashed potato... with pools of water near the lift. Fun in a way but definitely suffering from the temperature and direct sunlight.
We then went back up and skied down the other side to Plagne Centre (1970m) on Banzai/Puy du Fou and the snow was almost perfect... chalky, grippy, forgiving... just lovely... until we were lower down, on the final approach to Plagne Centre where it was also getting soft/soggy.
The difference in snow from the same lift but in opposite directions (south-facing versus north-facing) was utterly stark.
I have nothing to add on which specific resorts/areas to target but definitely take into account which way the main parts of the mountains face!

Would suggest Ischgl too but wont be cheap. Nearby Serfaus is great for kids, high too so no issue for snow but again budget might be an issue.

Also, if your first day skiing is a Tuesday, you'll probably be looking at private lessons. Have you fixed up transport yet? What does your journey look like? That makes a big difference to recommendations.
And, of course, there's no such thing as guaranteed good snow..... on which cheerful note, welcome to Snowheads.
