Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Val D'Isere Lay of the Land?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hey Guys,

On the plane to Geneva right now on the way to Val d'Isere where I'll be staying at the UCPA. Work's been crazy so I haven't had time to do a lot of research. Could anyone very kindly provide me with a sort of lay of the land or val d'isere? Namely - favourite food spots, most convenient bus rides/ the bus frequency/usefulness, skiing in val d'isere vs tignes (I'm a strong intermediate), any particular slopes you guys would recommend hitting. It's my first time ever skiing as an adult (turning 30 in 2 weeks) and I admit that this is all a bit disorienting haha.

UCPA used to include ski school? If this is not the case then for first day take Olympic bubble up and ski up there for a bit to get ski legs back. Once confident get Tommeuse up (just past Folie) and drop into Tignes. Marmottes self service is a favourite for lunch reasonably priced. Once you’ve got your bearings start to venture further afield. Enjoy.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

It is a huge area, so any attempt to actually answer would be very lengthy. Good restaurants might be easier. Not so many of those.

@Donwimble8, download the official Val d'Isere app. The skibuses are fab and you can track each one on the app.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.
