Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

What should I be looking for in a pair of skiing sunglasses?

Goggles. Sunnies are for French ski instructors who value appearance over performance! wink

In my opinion cheap goggles/sunnies are worth what you pay for them - not a lot. Oakleys are probably over-priced however I've had cheaper/other brand ones and I bought some more Oakley goggles Saturday.

There's nothing wrong with a good style... And they do use gogles off piste, btw.

Try Vuarnet and its classic ski-lynx lense. I am still in search of a better sunglass for skiing.

Googles, unless a very warm day and the hats off.
I cover the googles with a pair of Smiths with a good yellow lens for flat light and Spy Maques with a pink lense for everything else.
I use Spy glasses for bright days and a spare pair of Julbo glacier googles. The latter are the DB's and can get you out of all sorts of trouble but they have been beaten up a bit and I need to get them to sit properly on the face. They have a nickel frame...

Keep both goggles and glass lenses in the fabric bag they came with to stop the lenese scratching... Very important that IMV

I like to feel the breeze on my face, and as I'm no expert skier my sunglasses are fine for all but the worst of conditions Cool It has nothing to do with posing, I find goggles quite uncomfortable, the foam makes my skin itchy and I feel also feel slightly claustraphobic Cool
