Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Schladming mountain restaurant non skier

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Can anyone recommend mountain restaurants for non skiers in the Schaldming region? I am in post-operation recovery so will not be skiing when we visit at the end of March. However, I do have a season lift pass so would ideally like to meet the skiing members of my family at restaurants near the top of the mountains.

I am fine walking a few hundred metres on the flat between lifts and restaurants.

Any recommendations welcome.

@HutToHut, the coffee I had there yesterday was awful. You can't get there by gondola, you have to go up the chair after the gondola, which is not for pedestrians.

@dking2001, Can you negotiate some stairs or a bit of an incline? The Schladminger Hut at the top of the planai cable car

I thought the Tauern Seilbahn (cable car) went from the village of Haus to the top. Also the Berggasthof Scharfetter up there but we've not been in.

We had a nice lunch in the one next to the top station of the main planai lift - the one with sheep in the logo - the cable car goes over the top. Onkel Willie’s Hut is also walking distance from that lift, or can be driven too and that had a great atmosphere

My non skiing mum walked from the top of the gondola, through the tunnel to the hopsi express, took that down to by the kids area and went to the restaurant there, it’s a lovely spot in the sunshine, although possibly too much walking?

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much
