Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Easiski Summer Ski Clinic 24/25 June

Poster: A snowHead
Thought I'd start a new thread rather than post the photos in Easiski's interseason thread.

I popped over last weekend for a bit of glacier skiing and some lessons from Easiski. I find this a good thing to do. During the winter, if the snow's good (or even if isn't that good) I'd rather be haring around the ski area doing my own thing than having a lesson (sorry, but it's true wink ). In summer, when the ski area is much more limited, it's an ideal time to work on my technique and have a few technical thoughts to take into the next season.

This year, we were working on slowing down my turn initiation and getting my hips in the right place so that there wasn't too much separation of the uphill and downhill skis (ie the tips of both are reasonably level rather than the uphill one being miles further in front). Took a bit of work, but I think we were getting there in the end. We did have to resort to the hateful traverse on the uphill ski exercise though...

This was broken up by a little off piste adventure down to 2600m. We found quite a lot of good snow and it was rewarding seeing the tracks still there the day after. Probably last tracks of the year!

Also got to do the Snowheads wall at last. It was fun, but a bit of an illustration of how things can look much steeper looked at head on than they are when you're actually on them....

Here are a few photos:

First bit of our off-piste route:

Easiski a bit lower down

At the top of the gulley

Looking back up the gulley - you can just about make out our tracks

Last pitch before the walk to 2600m - nice spring snow and nice tracks!
