Signed.
Can anyone get Tim at the ski lodge to get behind this as well?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Sorry if I missed it but on reading the petition it doesn't say what is happening? Has it been closed this year or is there a proposal to close it? It would be a shame to lose it, I think it is a really important link lift

It has only been opened during peak times this season.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Why do you want to save it? Next year you will have a new Chenus Gondola with which to get back, or you can still use Plantrey. Also there’s the delightful Loze drag lift available too!

I'm a La Tania local and at the risk of being "disloyal", I have to admit that I can't help thinking trying to save this lift is largely pointless. The argument that it gets you to the Bagatelle and is an alternative way back to LT when it's busy is clutching at straws really.
Coqs used to be a useful mid-mountain link lift to Meribel but it lost its relevance when S3V pulled out the Col de la Loze chair that was the second stage of that link in 2014. I literally can't remember the last time I rode it because I tend to only ski early and late season and it's always shut. Even when it was open I pretty much only ever used it as the last lift of the day if I was pushing my luck for closing time but Plantrey now stays open later to compensate for that.
As above, the new Chenus will be much quicker and sheltered and because the bottom station for Chenus will now stand alone away from the other Croisette lifts, most of the central crowds will be avoidable too.

Also, I seem to recall that the original development plans for the new Moretta village area of La Tania included a repurposed chairlift to serve it but that part of the plan has gone quiet. Wouldn't surprise me if Coqs was the chairlift earmarked for that role and it would serve far more use as an alternative way out of LT (for when the gondola breaks down or is overcrowded in peak season) than an alternative way in. Every time the LT gondola breaks down it takes an eternity for the lifties to open the draglift as an alternative, a chair would be far better. You heard it here first...

So I signed up, but I don't think I'll ever do anything on change.org again.
Begging for donations, pushing for other petitions, follow-up emails, just a lot of spam really. Really annoying, even worse then the guardian and wiki's occasional requests when at least you only need to click No on one pop-up.

@Je suis un Skieur, yeah I agree, pretty much pointless now.. On the other hand if they pull the Adres lift in Meribel I will be very sad...

@skimottaret, totally agree about Adret. I think that's already been saved once by petition (as Coqs has been) but Adret fulfils a far more useful purpose by allowing people to avoid the ever crowded Doron into the Chaudanne.

From what I can see the Coqs is gone. . let's hope the Adret makes the cut in future.
