 Poster: A snowHead

Does anyone have any recommendations for a place for a family of 4, children 11 & 13 and we are all good skiers with plenty of weeks under our belts.
We bought ourselves flights to Geneva for Christmas week on the assumption we can find something good, so requirements are:
- Accessible from Geneva, with decent sized ski area, we cover around 50km a day usually
- Ski in/ski out (or minimal traipsing with ski gear)
- Half board
- Hot tub
Budget-wise I know it won't be cheap, and don't mind chalet or hotel, but I am always after decent value where I can get it, so up to around £1500pp but can stretch it something is really amazing...
Thanks in advance for your ideas!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Check out Avoriaz. Only potential sticking point might be the hot tub.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@mishmash83, I’ve stayed there a few times, it’s amazing. With kids, the connecting rooms are ideal and very well priced. There’s only a few in the hotel tho so if you want a pair, I’d book very soon.
The breakfasts and dinners are so huge that you don’t need much for lunch. The indoor/outdoor pool occupied my kids for hours each afternoon. And there’s live music and other entertainment in the lounge some nights. Staff are fabulous. Facilities like a library, games room, free coffee and hot chocolate, and cakes in the afternoon if you get there in time. Probably the best ski hotel I’ve been to, and I go to some nice hotels.

Have you ever been to meribel? There are two hotels in the centre of town with a very large outdoor heated pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room. I think they are called L'Eterlou and Le Tremplin but someone might correct me on that. We stayed in one of them years ago and we really liked it. Swimming outside in the fresh air in a heated pool was a real treat after skiing. Plus I am pretty sure we were able to have drinks by the pool (not sure if that was allowed or not but we managed it)

I've stayed at L'Eterlou - it's nice, but below Ours Blanc in standard and convenience. Rooms are pretty compact and the ski room to ski slopes route is a bit of a faff. And IIRC to get to the pool you had to walk outside.

@snowdave, thanks, it’s fully cancellable till a month before so we’ve booked it, yay!
@monkey, Thanks for this, skied in Meribel loads but never actually stayed there. These places look great but eterlou says not available and the other one was coming up EUR 2k more than ours Blanc!

Yes i think that's all probably fair enough. Mind you, in terms of walking outside to get to the pool, that is pretty common when the pool is, you know, outside
I must give Ours blanc a try - thanks for the recommendation

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.
