 Poster: A snowHead

Feels like this would have been asked here before, but I can’t see a recent post….
I have paid for 20kg ski carriage w Ryanair and have never flown with them skiing before so my question is; I have always paid for ski carriage and checked in one boot bag and one ski bag. Does anyone know if this is allowed with Ryanair as it seems a little unclear.
The combined weight of the two bags will be under 20kg.

What do you take your other luggage items in?
Stick as much gear (boots if they fit) as you can in your ski bag up to the max weight. Then, if you can't get the rest into your boot bag, ditch it and put the boots and everything else into a larger single bag.
Don't give them any excuse to charge you extra for a third bag, even if it only weighs a couple of Kg.

I'd be amazed if Ryanair let you bring two bags for your ski carriage. I bet they would charge them as 2 x ski carriages.
If however you got a snowboard bag and put them in there along with your skis and other stuff that would be fine.

Did that last year, your 1 ski equipment purchase may consist of 2 separate items: skibag and boot bag (all together under one ski equipment weight restriction ie 20kg for ryanair/easyjet), thats true for majority of air companies. However, I had hard time to prove that at the desk, most of the time calling managers to confirm, as people at the desk not very aware of this, so now I never fly with 2 items just to save my nerve cells and package everything inside the bag, then on arrival I separate boot bag for convenience

I've just flown with Ryanair, paid for regular rather than basic, which allows a 10 kg carry on which has my boots in 69 position, stuffed with socks etc, salopettes, & a few other essentials.
Skis & everything else in the ski bag.

like Tangowaggon, I do the same, it's one ski bag up to a certain weight, so Id carry the boots. Stuff other stuff in with the skis.

Bumping this thread. Similar question.
I'm planning on taking 2 pair of skis in one roller bag. It'll be less than 20kg but I don't trust Ryanair. It only say 20 kg, no mention of the bag type or max 1 pair.
Has anyone got any experience with this? Manc ..Venice

You have one ski bag that you can load up to 20kg. Put dead bodies in if you like, you don’t even need skis.
The only people who insist on only one pair of skis are tour operators as they would have to pay for you to hire skis if they’re delayed. So they’ll only pay for one set per £60 ski carriage charge.

We've taken a double roller ski bag - containing two pairs of skis, rucksacks, clothes, tinned food and loads of other stuff - on at least 20 Ryanair flights over the years. As the bag is never more than 20kg (often nowhere near) it's never been an issue.

Some years ago at Bristol airport I was stopped taking boots on a carry on luggage as Ryanair deemed them weapons that could be used against flight staff . I had to pay a lot extra to get them put into the hold.
Typical Ryanair scum bags try every trick in their fluid guidelines to extract more money out people.
I’d rather pay for a decent airline these days who are at least upfront about their costs than Ryanair.
