Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Anyone heading to Soldeu 15th Feb? Looking for a ski companion for some relaxed blue piste skiing?

Hello, we are heading to Soldeu Andorra tomorrow and I am just wondering if anyone is looking for skiing company for mainly blue pistes, perhaps the occasional red.

My husband and teenager are good, fast skiers and I can no longer keep up! I would normally join an adult lesson group but there is no availability in the mornings. We are staying near the main gondola in Soldeu.

I have been skiing for a very long time so am competent on the piste, but I learned as an adult and have long-since reached a plateau in my ability. So I ski (parallel) at a moderate pace, enjoy the mountains and like a regular coffee stop!

I am female but also happy to join a mixed group, as long as the pace is right.

Say it quietly - you could join the SCGB representative….. There is a rep in the resort, you can ski for a day with them for free, but would have to join to do so for any other days. They meet in front of the big piste map board opposite the gondola exit at 10.00am. The mix of skiers joining them range from intermediate to competent.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Not us this time sorry. Have you been to Grandvalira before?

Thanks. Yes, my husband is a member of Ski Club of Great Britain, but I think that the level might be perhaps slightly higher than I can manage? But we may pop along to the gathering in one of the bars that happens early in the week.

Just to update, I never found a skiing companion but it all worked out fine in the end. A shorter, more flexible ski made a significant difference to my turning! Occasionally I would take a blue while my family took the black or red, but we skied plenty of red slopes together and had a great week.
