I gave in to the hype and booked flights to Salzburg from Liverpool - have watched the Ryanair flights go from £600 to £900 over the last couple of months for the same Christmas week so figured I should just book. Now to decide where to go!

Is very strange - I’ve flown Amsterdam-GVA for the last 6-7 years, Saturday to Saturday, either Feb half-term or sometime in March.
But in this release there are no Saturday flights at all except for 6 weeks in Nov-Dec13th. Hope they re-appear…, is pretty much half the reason I pay for EasyJet Plus every year.
(Even looking at LGW-GVA for half-term 14/2-21/2, are people really pulling the trigger on nearly £1000 return? Wild).

it all looks expensive Maybe they've changed from "early bookers getting the best deal" to "early bookers are keen and will pay anything" .. so maybe if there are few bookings in the coming days the prices might drop a little? |
I think this is mostly right, but I doubt prices will drop over time with the exception of promotions on low volume holiday routes.
I think they have realised that they don't need the super low prices to get the seats booked, so they start high and stay high. Generally high demand and cost inflation is driving this, but it is also probably cyclical. Once consumers realise there is no huge benefit of booking early they'll stop, looking for last min deals again. At which point the airlines will revert to early booking discounts to help their cash flow.
There are also all sorts of customer service issues with prices dropping over time, people holding a more expensive ticket to what they could buy now get very annoyed! Different dynamic if they offer a promotion to entice later bookers to book a seat with a high sticker price.

Thanks folks, if I'd bought when I first checked could have saved £200. Despite my dithering we are still happy with £300ish each return for 5 of us to Zurich. When BA launch it will be more than double that. We had a few years run of getting Avios flights but failed last year and it was costly! Once again thanks to snowheads!

Am I wrong? Munich was always an airport for relative bargains, as its lot more time and hassle getting to Austrian resorts over Innsbruck and Salzburg. With any airline. We’ve used Munich recently and saved over £1k over using Salzburg.
Easyjet have reacted with a huge price hike.
Yes, always worth keeping the flag carriers in the costing mix.

Does anyone know if Easyjet put any of their "winter flights" to typical ski destinations in any of their "Sales" last year? Just trying to work out if there's a possibility I might get some flights cheaper, or if this is as cheap as their going to get (and they are not that cheap )

Mine went up on the day of booking (another family booked from what I could see), then they went up after I booked and have gone up since.
BA are still over double the price and they have full planes so can’t see it dropping for key ski destinations tbh — they are still cheaper than most

Yes they did get cheaper last year, there was 15% and 20% flight sales depending on how long you waited. I think I. Eventually bought mine in August for cheaper than than the release price.

Just checking my email the first 15% off last year from now was end of April, the 20% off was end of September.
Annoyingly it’s not a true 15/20 as the price creeps up all the time between dates.

 You know it makes sense.

I’ve just checked the ones I’ve booked and they’re £250 (33%) more expensive today so I’m glad I went for it.

Same here, mine have gone up by 55% (to Zurich), so no regrets here either

On similar but slightly different line, has anyone been sent any indication by Easyjet as to when their Easter 2026 flights will be out? Hoping to bag something affordable for 11-18 April....
Cheers.

@Handy Turnip, Thanks! Was hoping they'd be out a bit earlier as there are still cheap flights available for our plan B week before Christmas. But will hold on with fingers crossed that EJ will be generous. BA and Swiss are both already looking very expensive.

@andmelffion, Legend, seems early for Easyjet given it would be for flights over a year in advance, but thanks for that-will keep a close eye out next week!
