Do easyjet give any advance warning of their seat release date? 4 years ago I saved good money by being online at the right time, but the last few years I've found out they have been released after the event.
Does anyone know when the dates for late December 2025 are being released?

@BRi87, yes, someone on here usually gets some warning and posts. I looked the other day and it was about March 9th last year

Just gone on their website and there's a countdown to flights until March 2026 being released.
Timer suggests they'llll be released at 09:00 on Tuesday 25th February!

Ready and waiting. We won’t be flying on high demand dates, it’s more to get seats with extra legroom and then put it to one side until next winter. Does it make much difference on price in booking today or in 6 months time?

They weren't supposed to be released until 9am, so maybe the issue is related to that?

Website glitch. Put in earlier dates which gets you the return fare screen and then change the dates

Probably - we'll release stuff early to give us some time to iron out any small bugs, so they've probably done the same.
Sat flights are there now but still can't do return. I'll keep pressing refresh!

It depends. For half-term, immediately after release is probably as cheap as they'll ever be. However prices sometimes come back down from what they reach today, but not usually by a huge amount.
For less high demand dates, from my experience, prices can go up and down between now and departure date. But if your priority is extra legroom, then the sooner you book, the more likely you are to be able to reserve those.

Still not cheap though!
I've just checked Luton-Salzburg for 10th jan return and it's £473 for 2 with 1 hold bag each and 1 ski bag between us.
Add £60 for parking, plus fuel to Luton and £200 minimum for transfer to, say Saalbach we're looking at around £750.
We can drive for about £550 including a hotel on the way out and back, and not have the horror of airport queues and herding...

I can't get it to work - have to put in December before it'll allow me to get a return flight in and then won't move enough on the next screen.
I can literally see the prices increase before my eyes..

Well, this is interesting. On the app, the flights didn't seem to release at 9am and still aren't on there, even after a restart / refresh of the entire app.
On the website, using the standard search at the top of the home page, the flights also didn't release at 9 am.
BUT if you followed the "THE BIG SEAT RELEASE HAS LANDED - Book flights up to 22 March 2026" link / box on the homepage: https://www.easyjet.com/en/schedule-release, you could access the flights before 9 am, when they were supposed to be released.
This link now redirects to https://www.easyjet.com/en/flights-release so if you're still struggling to get them to load, try either of those links.

Loos like despite it not being any public holidays, the week 3rd Jan to 10th Jan appears very expensive (compared to other feb weeks). Just FYI.

I think they were there. They just got grabbed by people who went on the website, and followed the link on the homepage (above) which appears to have allowed them to book before the 9am point at which they were supposed to go live.
I certainly saw very cheap flights for Birmingham - Geneva for half-term (not that I'd be going then anyway).

Even with that link I cant select any flights after 5th March next year
ETA, talking nonsense, 2nd link works fine..................flights edin to GVA are ~£80 more expensive than this years equivalent.

Well, Edinburgh to Grenoble or Geneva on the dates I'm looking for - I could choose any seat on the plane - so doesn't look like lots of bookings on the routes I'm looking for - just expensive that week (3rd to 10th Jan).

I booked one set of flights (late Jan) on the mobile app by selecting December dates and then scrolling right, one day at a time, on the next screen. For the second set (mid Mar) the app started crashing but @GuyrillaMonsoon's link worked on my laptop!
Both flights around £70 more than this year, partly due to pricier return flights and partly due to increased baggage charges.

March 7th next year is ~£225 Edin to GVA (so in your example, thats near £1000 for four in March outside of school holidays, Brit or French).
This year it was £154 per head
And the flight is currently empty.

It could be that people have booked flights without seats. That's certainly what I do. But you are also looking at close-to-peak travel dates after New Year, on days which people often travel on to elongate a New Year break.
The flights to Geneva are admittedly expensive. The return flights to Edinburgh are not. So I would argue that it isn't that week that's expensive. Just the weekend you're looking to fly out. If you see what I mean?
BUT having just checked the Grenoble flights, they are indeed expensive in both directions.

Ah well .. not just my week that is expensive .. it all looks expensive Maybe they've changed from "early bookers getting the best deal" to "early bookers are keen and will pay anything" .. so maybe if there are few bookings in the coming days the prices might drop a little? The baggage charges - £100 for 1 23kg bag to do a return journey - yeah - I miss the days when I booked 4 flights to Geneva for £200 (for 2 adults and 2 kids!), with £120 on top for all bags!

Got half of what I wanted. Easyjet have stopped Thursday/Friday flights Gatwick to Verona fligts for several weeks from early January. So flying with BA instead, returning with Easyjet on a Sunday 9 days later. Headline Easyjet prices were as cheap as chips, but x that by 3 as we have hold luggage. We just can't do the rammed in minute cabin bag that many Snowheads experts manage . No complaints though, skiing is so much cheaper for us than the days of 4 travelling bound by school holidays.

My bad, I meant other January weeks. It was my fear - that 3rd Jan to 10th Jan would be expensive, despite it not being school holidays anywhere, simply because it's "close" to the new year. The following week the flights I'd like are 1/3rd of the price

Same. Will definitely revisit Magic Pass at some point, but not straight away. EasyJet are now flying from Brum to Innsbruck though, so Austria seems the obvious option. Unfortunately, they're just Saturday flights and don't afford the kind of flexibility the numerous Geneva daily flights do.
| porkpiefox wrote: |

Yeah, comparing the weekday flights I've taken this year, the route is definitely more expensive than it was. But with the inflationary spiral we're now in, that's totally predictable. I wouldn't be surprised if this time next year, what we're looking at then is more again and next time significantly so.

That identical week this year, flying out 4/1/25, our flight seats were silly cheap and the plane was half empty.
