Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski rental recommendations in Cervinia.

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hello All,

Heading of to Cervinia for the first time and I'm looking for recommendations for ski hire places. We're staying in Cielo Alto, and the nearest one seems to be a place called Valle Ski Service, but I noticed that it has quite a few bad reviews online so I was hoping for some personal recommendations

Thanks!

I’ve used Nolski the last couple of times I’ve been and they’ve been excellent.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I used Top One last week (2 mins from Cretas chairlift). Paid for premium skis. Got a pair of virtually brand new Volkl Race tigers - very happy. Nice people, good service.

We stayed in Cielo Alto but opted to rent from Cervinia 2001 in the centre of Cervinia. Rather than lug our stuff on the bus up and down from Cielo Alto, we hired lockers at 2.0 Ski Rental. It's possible to ski directly to the door and was an absolute game changer being able to put normal boots on for the walk down to the bus station.

Cervinia 2001 was a good price, nice equipment, and efficient, but if we returned, we'd book with 2.0 Ski Rental as then we would have had a discount on locker hire, so that's my recommendation. The service in there was good, but obviously I can't speak for the kit.

Their locker room is superb, with heated everything in each locker. Also a game changer putting toasty boots on every morning.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Of course, you might want to use the Cielo Alto pistes and ski directly to your accommodation, in which case you won't want locker hire. There's very little up in Cielo Alto, so we preferred to just get the bus down in the morning, and have all of our meals out, only returning on the bus when we were ready to settle for the evening.
