Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Buying ski touring boots in or around Innsbruck

Can anyone recommend a shop in or around Innsbruck that sells ski touring boots. I know of H&N in Alpbachtal, but wondering if there is somewhere closer to Innsbruck. We're staying in Patsch, but have a car. My partner's boots are on their last legs; looking for boots that work well up and downhill (i.e. not needing super lightweight), but with fussy feet, so would like a shop with a good range

I went to Jennewein in St Anton for mine, and I would recommend them. It's an hour in the car.

I have seen a place in Hall in Tirol recommended, but I'll have to see if I can find the name. Hall isn't very big though, so it shouldn't be that hard to find. No personal experience.

Other options in Innsbruck include Sport Wolf, who are a small indie store focussed on touring and alpinism: https://www.sportwolf.at and Sportler, which is a bigger chain store but IME has knowledgable staff. In Innsbruck they have one shop in the city centre and a larger flagship store on the outskirts at the DEZ shopping centre.

I've never bought boots from either before so no idea about their competence, though Sportler have been nice enough to let me mould my own liners in their ovens in the past.

It's a while ago now but I have bought boots from the Jennewein in St Anton that @Scarlet mentioned and had a good experience, so if the 1 hour drive doesn't put you off that's a good shout.

Careful if you go to the Sportler flagship store in the DEZ, you might find you come out having bought far more than you went in to the store intending to buy!

Thanks all for the replies. Not sure about going over to St Anton as we're skiing with the Snow Card Tirol, so it's more likely Sport Wolf or H&N.

I'm personally not so worried about overspending in the Sportler flagship store, but not sure about my partner. Last winter I found a shop in Ischgl who could replace a broken boot buckle; I spent 20 Euro on the new buckle, whereas someone else came out with new touring skis and bindings, and about 1000 Euro lighter
