Not looking for any sympathy, I'm just slightly annoyed but also very understanding.
MrsHD was admitted to hospital last week and results showed quite a severer e-coli based kidney infection. She was discharged on Sunday after spending 5 days on an antibiotic drip and as I type is having some follow up blood tests to check on infection levels.
She's whacked, so much so that we're cancelling Sundays trip to Sestriere and more than likely rebooking for the following weekend. Same holiday, same price.
Tour opps won't let us defer due to us canceling so close to the travel date which I can completely understand. I just hope our travel insurance providers do as well
Oh well, such is life...
Oh, and I went to Chill Factor last week to test my ACL reconstruction and can report that it was all good!

@homers double, Hope Mrs hd is fully recovered and that all will work out, including insurance, for the following week.

I know you're not looking for sympathy, but hopefully shouting at your keyboard helped some! All the best and hope it works out in the end! Best wishes for quick recovery for Mrs HD.
Did you book with a credit card? Maybe they can help with a refund of some sort. Or a no win no fee solicitor?

Thanks, I've already spoken to our insurers and they suggested waiting until we have the results of todays tests before submitting our claim as we'll be armed with more information.

Is it possible to get a drs report saying in the interests of recovery it is not advisable to travel along with the hospital discharge papers ,thats what I did re a holiday booked before an accident and that satisified the insurers when we cancelled .

There might also be a health insurance issue, something about not being covered for pre existing conditions. Not sure but if it strengthens your argument. Good luck, particularly for Mrs HD.
