Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I'm fairly regular in Chamonix, but this year we're going to take it easy and do a few touristy things with the family too. Planning on an afternoon up the Midi, and possibly a trip on the train to the Mer du Glace.

I'm aware you need to book a lift time for the Midi. All of us will be skiing so I'll get the Unlimited Pass for the day we plan to ski, and do the Midi as it works out better than a Midi ticket on top of Le Pass.

Since it's half term I think it would make sense to book in advance rather than wait until we are there and possibly miss out, like we did last year.

In terms of booking a specific cabin, can anyone advise the process? Do I need to get the pass before I can make a booking? Or can I proceed to the booking in advance and then buy the passes once we arrive in resort and have more idea of what we are doing?
