Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Minibus transfer from Lyon

Hi all,

We normally always rent cars but one of our drivers didn't fancy driving this trip. Would anyone know of a transfer company that would have a minibus for 12 people and luggage who works out of Lyon?

You'll likely get more prospect in candidates with the ski destination noted too.

Just that searching the village destination availability can bring specialist for that village/valley location willing to "flex" their service for the chosen airport.

Afaik, 9 seater including driver is casual licence limit in France, with over that pax being a coach/psv type arrangement.

The village tourist info may have options to see as above scenario.

@ski3, Hi thanks. Heading to Sainte Foy. We usually hire two 9 seaters but was seeing if we could just get a private transfer and struggling to get anything reasonable

I think 2 x 8 seaters (pax) is the way to go. I don't see many mid sized buses around the Tarentaise (mainly because their drivers will want a Coach Driver's salary - not folks who will drive a minibus for just over the minimum wage so they can ski - or supplement their retirement income by working weekends). For Ste F - try Coolbus, Mountain Rescue or SnowDrone for a starter for 10. Snowdrone do have car transfers too - so you might squeeze an 8 plus 4 providing you are not bringing the kitchen sink with you.

Ooh, yes, a little niche for transfer at basic cost.

Somewhere we love staying and skiing too, but not with significant enough volume to contain cost commercially.
