 Poster: A snowHead
|
Hi,
I am out 22nd Feb to Tignes Val Claret on 22nd Feb with 6 x under 25s plus me and the partner. I would appreciate suggestions on places to eat at the resort or on the mountain that is not crazy money as I will be picking up the bill for 2 x meals out that week. I have been to Tignes once before so know the layout ok.
Also, anybody know a good coffee place in val claret we could meet first thing prior to first lift?
Many thanks

 Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

@mcloughlin_mattuk, there is a new Salon de The Maison Bouvier at the far end of the shops in upper VC.
L’Armoise for a reasonable meal - set menus or a la carte.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

If you're back in to Le Lac at lunch time, you can pick up a pretty decent, and well priced meal from the Sherpa supermarket, and just down the side of the supermarket is a little indoor gallery, and there's a good asian place in there, G's Spot.

If you want to save a few euros after picking up those mountain restaurant bills you might also want to check out the comfortable and welcoming picnic rooms in the ski area @mcloughlin_mattuk - some complete with kettles, microwaves and comfy sofas - eg:
- Bottom of Toviere lift in Tignes Le Lac.
- Top of Solaise in Val D'Isere. Lovely panoramic views and a cafe counter too (coffee, croissants etc). This one is the pick of the bunch. Even the toilets are posh.
- Bottom of Le Daille gondola in Val D.
- Bottom of Les Brevieres gondola.
Aspen for pre-ski coffee. It's under 2 mins from the Bollin/Fresse chairlifts (ie Val D connections) - and a minute further to the lifts up to Grande Motte Glacier.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

The Marmotte and Cascade restaurants are great value on the mountain - significantly cheaper than elsewhere and great choices.

The Corner has the best coffee (and sausage rolls) in Tignes and is in Val Claret on the snow front, a ski pole throw away from the Tufs chairlift.

Recommend the Corner
For evening meal if you catch a bus to Levachet La queue du Cochon is excellent. Not cheap but really good value for money and superb food
