@GuyrillaMonsoon, given that the treatment for a cracked rib is usually exactly nothing other than a few anti-inflammatories, you might as well just go home. If you want prescription level medication, you'll have to go to the medical centre and claim back from Magic Pass or your travel insurance, GHIC only covers hospital treatment.

Thanks @Je suis un Skieur
I figure I'll start by calling Magic Pass insurance first when I get back to accommodation, just in case I don't get to use that again this season.
A quick Google suggested speaking to doctor and informing airline, so I'll be led by what they say first and foremost.
It does feel a bit like I might as well make use of at least one of my covers, seeing as I have them though.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@GuyrillaMonsoon, you will almost certainly find that the cost of some painkillers will be less than the excess on your policy. And you might run into problems about being "fit to fly" and general hassle. I think I'd go and talk to a pharmacist (a proper pharmacy, not a para-pharmacy) and get the best pain killers they can provide, and fly home as planned.

@GuyrillaMonsoon, What are you needing from your insurance? It doesn't sound like you have lost much holiday or skiing time, but I may have misunderstood.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

There is a risk IF you have a rib fracture that you have a small pneumothorax ( air leak around the lung) . Flying is potentially dangerous in this situation. Therefore you should consider getting a medical assessment and at least chest xray .

@thecramps - I wasn't sure whether I needed anything from my insurance but was looking for guidance from others.
It was interesting to note that @retsil's and @Origen's advice differed so greatly, although both were much appreciated.
In the end, I've sided with Origen, but mainly because it appears that what I have is just a "popped rib". The descriptions of that match what I appear to have experienced.
I've got no shortness of breath, and have slept reasonably well with no recurrence of the "shifting", especially now I'm taking things slower and not encouraging it to do so.
Truth be told, I'm a terrible wuss and so not terribly surprised that the initial pain and shock was hopefully a lot more serious than it has proven.
Although having said that, I've still got to drag my 20kg snowboard bag to the train station and to Geneva Airport, so will 3 see how that goes.
Thanks to all those who responded though and I hope all is well with the OP and their injuries too!
